They’ve been together for more than a decade, and they’ve fucked, fought, and everything in between — but somehow Shane was still oblivious to the warning signs of his heat. He always smelled like absolute fucking sin too. It took all Ilya had not to drop to Shane’s feet, mouth open, tongue at the ready, and offer his enthusiastic services. Ilya tried to do so, early on in their relationship, but Shane kicked him away like he was a nosy terrier, tsked at and scolded for its eagerness to serve.

Arlo watches Rozanov catch the small gesture their boss gives him and grab the black coat off his shoulders, draping it over one arm with his black leather gloved hands. It freaks Arlo out a little, the wordless communication that Boss has with his bodyguard. The way they move like a single being, with Hollander always a step ahead but never more than that step far. Rozanov walks if Boss walks, like there’s an invisible leash latched to some collar that only Hollander can tug at.
It must be so humiliating, he thinks just as Boss climbs the long flare of stairs that lead to the main entrance and Rozanov follows behind him like an obedient dog. He wonders if he burns with the shame of subduing himself like that. Of reducing his entire existence to a single man out of obligation.
