Percy’s insistence on this was annoying at first, but it became something Nico looked forward too now, a chance to relax, let himself spread out. But Percy wasn’t here, and the house was eerily silent, not even Lea was in her normal spot on the armchair that was too small for her.

    It left Nico with a sick feeling in his gut.

    “After everything I fuckin’ do for you! I bought you that damn jug of milk in there! Me! I did! You can’t survive without me!” More fists. Her cheek, her chest, her nose. One found placement in her stomach as the wind was knocked out of her. She was shoved back onto the floor after trying to sit up and kicked on the side of her head.

    “You ungrateful little shit! You need me!”

    Andromeda couldn’t breathe.

    “You can’t live without me!”

    OR: Anakin and Obi-Wan's conversation about Anakin spying on Palpatine spirals into an argument about Obi-Wan not trusting Anakin. Somehow, this causes Anakin to stay in the Council Chambers when order 66 happens. He fights desperately to protect any Jedi he can, and when the order is suddenly stopped and the clones turn back to their regular selves, Anakin is gravely injured.

    As best they’d been able to figure, it started in the Hermes cabin.

    The Apollo campers, gods love ‘em, emptied out the Big House infirmary and went mobile. Those who fell ill were banished back to their cabin, but the rest maintained the closest they could get to hospital protective gear and delivered soup, drinks, and other necessities to everyone else. Kids caught in the spiked fever phase were wiped down repeatedly with cold wet washcloths, while those wracked by dry heaving got the same pressed firmly against the backs of their necks.

    But that meant a lot of cold wet cloth constantly warming up and drying out, which meant a fresh supply of ice water was badly needed.

    Hence Thalia, decked out like a background extra in a post-apocalypse film, lugging heavy buckets up to the cabins over and over again.
