Summary
He laid in his bed staring into the dark for hours. He cursed himself for having such awful insomnia on the rare occasion that there wasn’t a call interrupting every brief hour of sleep they got.
Every minute that passed stressed him out farther for the tone that was bound to ring through the station at any moment. The increasing stress only fueled his inability to sleep creating a vicious cycle.

He made a step closer and without even a second for him to prepare, the floor gave away from underneath him. Carlos yelped as his body was suddenly airless. He tried to catch himself on whatever he could get his hands on, but he only succeeded in scraping his arms raw. When he came in contact with the concrete floor, he was sure he blacked out for a second. His head slammed forward against the solid ground as his arm twisted awkwardly beneath him. He tried to convince himself the crunch he heard wasn’t from the bones in his arm.

All at once, the glass slammed into his palm and pain lit up like a fire underneath his skin. Eddie yelped loudly, drawing his hand back like he had been burned. Hen startled, dropping the salad bowl onto the table. The bowl cracked and salad leaves spilled everywhere.
For a moment, everything was silent. The entire team stared at the spilled bowl of salad. Then, like the universe was playing some game with him, they all turned to stare at him.-or-
Eddie breaks his wrist during the fighting arc and tried to hide it from his team. They find out, of course. Bobby is there to comfort him, no matter the situation.

It took another half hour for Arien to come back around the loop. His strides were slow and uneven as his body shook. Sam immediately stood up. Arien stopped running and started limping towards him. Sam ran towards his kid immediately.
“Hey, what’s going on? Are you okay?” Arien just shook his head. The boy was panting behind his mask. Sam could see the sweat soaked into every layer of his clothes and dripping down his skin. The boy faltered and Sam immediately grabbed onto him to keep him steady. “Ari?”

As the man scrambled up against the concrete Eddie sighed, looking up at Buck. He was about to open his mouth to mutter some sarcastic assignment about how dumb all of this was when there was a bunch of commotion from right above them. Eddie instinctively looked up towards the noise. He didn’t have time to move before a large piece of concrete was connected with the front side of his skull.

He fumbled with the buckles on his safety and tripped out of the car. He heard talking and he saw bodies moving towards him, but nothing was clear enough to make out. His ears were ringing, his head was spinning, and the burning hot suddenly settled into a icy cold over the surface of his skin.
Before he had time to comprehend what was happing, the world was tilting sideways and he saw black.
