Even as bones caved beneath your crushing grasp, ignoring the ringing of your ears as silent shrieks of pain escaped the writhing mass beneath you, you still ain’t seein the humor. (Rewriting a fan fiction I wrote a couple years back, it’s a choose your own adventure thing idk the correct term for it. But at the end of the chapter you get a vote to decide what action the reader’s character takes)

"Wait, wait—" Dream’s protest fell out in a rushed breath, more tendrils slipping around him, coiling with a surprising tenderness as they supported his weight. Their touch was featherlight, far from constricting, almost careful in the way they held him.
He could have resisted. If he had truly felt inclined, he could have broken free. But the shock of the moment held him captive more than the tendrils themselves. His arms flailed, half-heartedly attempting to push away, but his willpower faltered before it even truly ignited. There was no real threat here, no sense of looming danger. He felt more surprised than anything else.
Perhaps, under different circumstances, Dream might have felt alarmed. Perhaps he should have been. But that wasn’t the point. Not now. Not with that quiet, unnerving comfort seeping into him like the coolness of the tendrils against his bones.

Nightmare sat on the grassy floor of the hidden meadow, a quick walk away from the tree. The meadow was more of a quarry covered in moss, with divots in the rock sprouting random plants. Shallow grass grew where the sun hit, soft and delicate like silk. It brushed gently against the bones of his hands until it hit the small breaks with the microscopic barbs, sending small, shooting pain through his bones.
He's not stupid. He knows what pain is. It's bad, painful- a negative experience he's supposed to avoid.
Then why does everything else in his skull no longer hurt?

It was degrading. Vile. The mere thought of it twisted something deep inside him, but the knowledge that his men would be safe—that he wouldn’t have to wage war on two fronts, against both Sol and Dream—had outweighed his pride.
Still, the bitterness lingered. He had no desire to submit to any Alpha, let alone that Alpha. Sol’s control, his smug superiority, grated on Nightmare’s every nerve. But for now, he had to endure it—for his gang, for the tenuous balance he needed to maintain.

The young doctor has become the antagonist in a dating sim synthesized from the multiverse of her favorite game, Undertale. She will have to survive being the villain many believe her to be. After all, that's what an antagonist is, right?This is a reader-insert! A better explanation will be in the author's note at the end of chapter 1, but I will say this is a writing experiment for some of the darker themes produced by my other story of a similar concept, "They Call me Antagonist, but I prefer Anti-hero."
