Can it really be more traumatic than your six month road trip across America, bound to a pipsqueak slave-master and fighting off such distinguished enemies as real estate tycoons, giant snakes, horse-fuckers, the specters of all your past regrets and/or mistakes, fungal acne and your toxic ex?

    He very pointedly does not observe Poseidon's Favored, or guide his rays to paint his skin in deeper hues when he's under Apollo’s sun. Apollo does not soak up the stories his children tell of Percy when he visits them at camp, nor does he steal glances of him faster than mortal eyes can perceive when they happen to visit at the same time. Apollo does not avoid Dionysus’ knowing glances or Chiron's weary sighs.

    Apollo is fine.

    All Apollo had to do was wait out the rest of Percy's mortal lifespan and he was home free. Unfortanately, ascension changes his plan.

    Caligula’s hand was at his hip, not at all affected by Apollo’s weak attempts to kick at him. Blood loss was making it hard to put any force behind his movements.

    He could tell choked whines were getting punched out of him with Caligula's pace, but it was involuntary. Caligula didn't seem to care. He relished in the noises, tilted further forward.

     

    Caligula gets a little too into Apollo's attempted suicide and decides that, since he's already too weak to do anything, he might as well have some fun before absorbing his soul forever.

    The legends and myths promise nothing good comes from devoting oneself to a god. The gods see us as playthings, as a means to an end. Is it foolish to think I could ever be an exception? Perhaps. Nonetheless, I offer myself anyway.

    I have spent my life loving a god- a man- I can never have. I have worshiped at his statue's feet and spoken the words he whispers in my dreams and in my ears. I tend to his temple and burn his offerings. I wear his jewels and the crown he placed on my head. In return, I have been gifted with power and status beyond comprehension. Monsters know better than to attack me, for fear of facing my god's wrath. Men and gods alike know better than to attack, knowing doing so runs the risk of trigger my lord's protective tendencies.

    I might not have him in the way I wish to, but I have him in the only way I am allowed. It is enough. It has to be.

    I am more than content with my lot in life. Until, one day, everything changes, and one vision changes the course of my life.

    Apollo, the Greek god of the sun, prophecy, healing, and more, finds himself entangled in a mystery involving a strange world. With the blessings of the Olympian gods and these figures, humanity in this world was granted the ability to wield magic.

    However, a dangerous phenomenon called blot has begun to threaten this world, leading to deadly overblot incidents. After receiving a warning that an institution is in danger, Hades enlists Apollo’s help to investigate and stop the rising crisis before it spirals out of control—by attending Night Raven College, the very academy the Great Seven sought to protect. As Apollo delves deeper, he realizes that the balance of magic is tipping, and the fate of its students may rest in his hands.
