A Magnetic Attraction by Eclaire-de-Lune (RoyalHeather), RoyalHeather
Fandom: Critical Role (Web Series)
06 Oct 2023
Summary
When Jester starts her final year of college, she has plenty weighing on her mind, including the recent and highly-publicized death of her friend Molly. And Caleb, her physics professor, certainly doesn't need more troubles on top of his financial situation and the ever-manipulative Dean Ikithon. But as the two are drawn to each other and forbidden romance kindles, they find strength and solace neither could have expected on their own.

Summary
Part of her wonders if it would be easier if she’d never been a cleric. If she’d never had any special powers that could raise the dead in the first place. Maybe she would have learned all of this sooner.
“It just feels,” Jester says, trying to put some of that into words, “like I had a power that just stopped working.”
Jester Lavorre spends a lifetime learning how to let go.

Heartbreaking. Jester Lavorre, the eternal wonder. This one feels right, it feels like the Nein in an alternate ending. (I cried.)

Summary
Caleb loses a bet with Veth that results in him being required to wear ugly Winter's Crest sweaters, a different one every day, for the month before the festival. Fortunately, there's a used clothing store in Rexxentrum that just happens to be owned by everyone's favorite leetle blue tiefling.
E. rating kicks in at chapter 7, 9, 10, 14, 16, 17, 20, 21 if that's what you're here for (or if you want to avoid it).
1/7: This is turning into a Jester Lavorre character study wrapped in WJ fluff and smut and I'm not mad about it.

Summary
Jester has a heart to win. When a prank goes wrong, the Myriad princess finds herself horns-deep in the syndicate's debt. As payment, she vows to charm a son of the Plank King and secure an alliance with Darktow—and just maybe, she'll get to meet her estranged mother. One problem: She’s never known romance outside of a book.
Fjord has a lie to live. After a shipwreck, the Revelry prince dreams of restless water and an inescapable curse. He never wanted the throne, but he’ll do anything to protect his father’s legacy—even if it means entering into a unique arrangement with a little blue tiefling. No problem: He's not about to actually fall for her.
She’ll keep his secrets, if he’ll play along with her storybook love affair . . . one trope at a time.

Summary
Essek tore his gaze away from those red eyes, seeking desperately something safer, softer. He was among friends. Cognouza was seconds ago and a timeline away. It hadn't happened — it wouldn't happen.
He settled on Jester, who beamed.
"Hi," she said, kindly, "I'm Jester. I like your weasel."
**
In another timeline, the Mighty Nein fall to Lucien. Essek, with Artagan-the-weasel's help, travels back in time to save them.

Molly pouted. "Oh fine, off with you then. Should probably let you know though, Jester has your weasel."
"I — what?"
"Yeah, she found it in a porn shop a few days ago. Been holding onto him for you."
Ven's eyebrows drew together. "A porn shop."
"Hey now, far be it from me to —"
Molly cut himself off as a figure made its way past: the High Richter herself, sparing nary a glance for their little scene.
"Oh, fuck." Molly grabbed Ven and pulled him in close, lopping an arm over his shoulders like an overly friendly drunk. Ven actually hissed at the contact. "Be a dear and play along for a second, yeah?"
And then he started singing, loud, off-key, gloriously drunkard singing. And staggering about, dragging Ven with him, to sell it. After a moment, during which Ven regarded Molly rather like a bug you didn't want to find in your soup, he even joined in. Not as loud as Molly, but he had to give him credit for going with it.

“Jester’s here. The wedding is off. I had a dress and this huge prank planned for Fjord, and now nobody will see either one!”
The Sending blasts through the ordered calm of Caleb’s thoughts. Veth. Her shrill delivery is flippant. The message itself is a fluffernutter: an unmitigated bombshell.

Can you imagine how freaking annoy it would be if people grew magical flowers in the same place that their destined ones got hurt? Especially if said destined ones didn't know the meaning of health or safety?
The Mighty Nein could.
It kinda sucked. But it was also kinda worth it.
Quick glimpses into the complicated and wild lives of Exandria's mightiest band of soulmates.

Summary
Here’s the problem with divine intervention when you are not technically divine. It’s tricky. It’s risky. It requires creativity on the part of the not-so-divine. No one would ever accuse Artagan of not being clever and creative, but when Jester called out to him after being trapped in a cell that even his power couldn’t penetrate easily, he knew he had to do something… Drastic to heed her wishes and give her a miracle.
The Nein can work some impressive miracles, but they’re not what he needs. He knows what he needs. The very definition of risky and tricky.
This is either going to be hilarious or the worst idea he’s ever had.
Maybe both. Those two things aren’t mutually exclusive, after all.
