Summary

Unfortunately for him, the first thought that filters through his mind is how perfectly well Wilhelm's hand seemed to dwarf his. They grasp his hand so perfectly in theirs that it almost makes him dizzy and he has to pull his hand back so quickly like he's been burned.
They look thoroughly amused when they say, “Wilhelm. They/them and he/him, whichever you…” They trail off, hand moving up to brush aside their hair falling over their face. Simon wishes it were his fingers instead.

The stars were on his ceiling. Well, not the actual stars, those were billions of light years away, but Simon had bought him a light that projected the night sky onto his usually boring ceiling, turning it into a kaleidoscope of colours and pin pricks of light, a whole galaxy all to himself.
Wilhelm thought it was definitely his favourite gift he’d ever received, and it wasn’t even for his birthday or Christmas.

It was their anniversary. Their first anniversary, to be exact. One whole year of whispered confessions, soft kisses stolen as often as possible, and love that felt like sunlight breaking through the coldest of days. And Wilhelm had a plan.
Simon didn’t question it when Wilhelm shyly asked if they could go to a nature reserve just outside of town. He had seen the way Wilhelm’s eyes lit up whenever he talked about frogs, the way he could go on and on about different species, their habitats, their calls.
