Summary
Sigrid knows next to nothing about Dwarves, except some saved her and her siblings' lives when they were children, fifteen years ago. Since then, she has had little contact with them unless it was necessary for diplomacy.
Kíli knows something of Men but isn't terribly impressed, and even a bit wary of them, given their poor treatment of Dwarves at large.
Soon, they are to be wed when tensions between Dwarves and Men reach a boiling point. In each other, they will eventually find their One, as much as hearth and home.

In the evening before the Battle of the five armies, after Gandalf and Bilbo talked to Thranduil and Bard, the latter two stay together in Thranduil's tent. A moment of curiousity leads to unexpected intimacy.
"You may touch it if you want.", he said.
Thranduil's gaze snapped up from his beard to his eyes in surprise.
"Touch... it? Your beard?", he repeated in a tone of disbelief that Bard had never heard in his voice before. Though he certainly did not seem repulsed by the idea.
"Yes, if you want to.", Bard confirmed, again stepping closer.

What begins as an arranged marriage to assuage a restless kingdom following new information coming to light about Thorin's gold sickness thirteen years after Erebor was reclaimed, turns into two soulmates who have orbited each other their whole lives finally being brought together, which allows for a proper beginning to their lifelong love story at last.

"Goldrush" by Taylor Swift has been playing NONSTOP in my head as I wrote this. And it's probably the best song in the world to listen to while reading Fíli x Sigrid fics. lol The acquaintances to blushers to enemies to lovers Fíli x Sigrid fic that NO one asked for but that I SO freaking, desperately, NEEDED...
After the great battle the citizens of Dale accept an invitation, from the King Under the Mountain to take refuge in Erebor, in order to avoid the oncoming winter. Two kingdoms merged together as one. Both heirs to their people put to the test. But lots can happen under the same roof... And Sigrid realizes that there's more to the dwarf prince than what she last remembers from the brief time they had spent together...
Forced proximities? Accidental touches? Sent on an envoy trip together? Rival families? Say no more.
I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I did making it. <3 And yes, I do write long. VERY long. T_T I apologize in advance... This is my first time sitting down to write a fanfic and POSTING it online. Bear with me here. Midterms are approaching (and then finals- I'm gonna kms), so updating will take awhile. (sorry!!)
