Initially reluctant, Hephaestus agrees after Apollo warns of Hera's wrath. Ares protests, but Apollo clarifies Hephaestus will just sleep beside him. In the chaos, Hephaestus accidentally falls onto Ares, whose cold body draws him in. Ares pulls Hephaestus closer, realizing the warmth works, and demands he stay. Apollo teases Ares about bringing Chione, which scares him. As the night goes on, Hephaestus is uncomfortable with their close proximity but endures, hoping the night ends soon.
