I wanted to play with the idea of the four careers from the 74th being those in the quell, and what would ensure if there were more of the youngest careers involved when the war broke out. What started as a single to get Clato through the revolution turned into a story of multi generational career friendship, shared trauma, and growth.
I am a careers apologist and this will maybe turn you into one, too.

The question stands: How would the presence of surviving, young Career Victors change the trajectory of the quell and the subsequent rebellion? How would the involvement of the most loyal district's best and youngest shift the tides of a revolution?
Follows Clove and Cato through exactly that. Their independent Hunger Games wins, the subsequent quell, and a war they never intended to become apart of.
TL;DR: The original career pack (Glimmer, Marvel, Cato, and Clove), win separately in games prior to the 74th, and their lives change drastically as a result. Clato centric.

Summary
Katniss had won her games years before the 74th Hunger Games and as punishment for her failed rebellious acts with the berries was forced to become a mentor adored and used by the capital to keep her remaining family safe.
The rebellion lays dormant as Katniss lives the capitol life required of her by Snow, that is until she sees herself in the newest victor of the 74th hunger games, the ruthless Cato. The fire in him and her urge to protect him from from being involved in her same fate leads her to to an intricate game of chess as the people of Panem bide their time for a second wave rebellion.

Party lights swirled around Katniss’s dazed form as she stared up at the ceiling, trying to make sense of where she was and whose hands were grabbing her. Someone tugged her arm over and put their cigarette out on her palm. She tried to protest, to say something, but all that came out was unintelligible whimpering.
Shrill laughter filled her ears as someone pulled her onto their lap, pouring champagne down her throat despite her inability to swallow. Then she was pushed down, her head between her knees as she tried to choke the alcohol out of her mouth and onto the couch.
