As much as Augustine wants his best friend to be happy, the feeling in his gut of Winnie finding someone hurts: good thing they have plenty to do before that though! He looked up from his coffee, finally meeting Winnie’s gaze as he gnawed at his lower lip for a moment. “I dunno. I haven’t really been doing anything, just school and work.” That wasn’t a lie, he simply chose not to include the sleepless nights he had, simply wishing Winnie never left.
“For three years?”
“For three years.”
