And upset, he was! Upset, that was him, upset because his friend could have died. What he was not upset about was that his entire body lit up for exactly 3.7 seconds when he thought Rose Tyler kissed him, and the pleasant fog he floated in after she pulled away for 14.69 seconds. And for those 18.39 seconds, the guilt and shame he carried with him everywhere disappeared.
Of course, Rose would have never kissed him like that. Or at all! Rose wouldn't want to kiss him, that would be daft.
