After Peter has made everyone forget about him, he realizes being the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man again is harder than he thought it would be. So hard, actually, he starts spiraling.
One night, when the walls are crumbling around him, he breaks one of the principles he set for himself after everything. He puts on Mr. Stark’s glasses to talk to E.D.I.T.H. for a little while, just until the room doesn’t feel like it’s spinning anymore. But E.D.I.T.H. doesn’t talk back. Instead, she activates the Boy Scout Protocol.
Suddenly, Peter finds himself staring into a pair of very familiar brown eyes, now faintly glowing blue.
“Hey, kid. What happened?” Mr. Stark asks.

Delmar's Deli-Grocery is indisputably the best sandwich place in all of Queens―though Peter's biased and all, seeing as he's worked there since high school.
Peter first started his part-time job with Mr. Delmar as a way to help May pay off some of the bills. Not much has changed since. He attends Columbia with the help of some hefty scholarships, but that doesn't mean living got any less expensive. Being the sandwich delivery boy for Delmar's Deli-Grocery has its perks, really! Like being able to eat the leftover sandwiches when there's a screw up with an order, or whenever Office Manager slash alpha bachelor Tony Stark places an order for Peter to deliver.

It wasn‘t like seeing Spider-Man around was something particularly unusual in Queens. Everyone did at some point or another.
Nonetheless she couldn‘t help feeling a strange kind of attachment to the friendly neighbourhood helper. Kind of like that regular at the café that you always see around and you‘ve never talked to but sometimes you nod to each other and when they‘re not around for a while you wonder vaguely if they‘re doing okay.
Kind of like that.
Anyway, once that strange parasocial attachment had been formed, Lauren couldn‘t help her curiosity. Her interest. So she watched him sometimes when she saw him around. Only for a while. Only when she had nothing else to do. And not in a creepy way.Just—people watching. Like you‘d do sitting on a bench or looking out the window, watching the people mill past. Only Spidey-specific. There it was— a number five with pickles, smushed down real flat. It looked exactly as it always did: the mayonnaise was much heavier on the right side than the left, the bread was already a little soggy from the pickle, and—most importantly—it had been absolutely steamrolled.
For a moment, it was almost as if the last two months had never happened, and everything was normal. But his tears weren’t letting up.

"It's fine." Peter said to himself. "It's okay. You've already got your GED, anyways." It was always so quiet now, when neighbors weren't arguing or stomping around. So, he had gotten into the habit of talking to himself. Maybe it wasn't the most logical of things to do, but Peter couldn't help it. The silence and loneliness. It had been suffocating.
