A painful reminder that the odds aren’t in your favor when your district votes you into the Hunger Games as a means of revenge against your father. Artemis Plinth is chosen because the district wants her dead. Simple as that.
“I’m not ready” she tells her mother, whose iron grip on her chin never loosens.
“Your time comes when it does, my child” her mother tells her. “You’re a Plinth, so act accordingly. Never give in, never lose-“
“Never fall” Artemis concludes, finishing her mother’s words that have been drilled into her since she was a child.
“Exactly” Vesta lets go of her daughter’s chin with a nod “you come home a winner or not at all. Your father and I raised you a victor, and that is what you’ll become”
There’s no question about it, no doubt that there is any other fate in store for her than winning the Hunger Games – regardless of who she is up against. Regardless of what she has to do to end on top - to be crowned a Victor.

Each story can be read on its own, or as part of the series. The exception is "What Came Next" which is a direct sequel to "The Year After."

Summary
Obsidian Miltiades of District 2 volunteers for the 147th Hunger Games a day shy of her 19th birthday, making her the oldest tribute in Hunger Games history. She could have been free from the Hunger Games if she hadn't stolen the volunteer position from another girl. Now she must go to the arena knowing that she committed an offense against her district - but unlike past District 2 tributes, honor is not her greatest motivator.
Told in a "Choose Your Own Adventure" format in which the readers can influence the main character's journey.
This is part of an alternate universe Hunger Games series I created. There is no set reading order.

With the comfort of her compact, Hope will fight tooth and nail with other 23 tributes in order to go back home, with Grandma and her normal and peaceful life.This is a side story about the 70th Hunger Games, before Peeta and Katniss are even mentioned.
