Throughout his life, and throughout 1940s and 1950s England, Charles liked girls. He was the smartest in his class, composed, flirtatious and driven. However, now Charles was stressed and felt the opposite of composed working with the CIA to find mutants and build a team to stop some nuclear war enthusiast. Things could change. Their relationship had been a secret. That had been one of the givens when they had first started dating: no one could know. It was just that the two of them could see how much of a problem it could be, two well-known actors in a relationship together. Not just with the people who were interested in them and the things they were in but with networks as well, especially given the big movie franchise they were contracted with, and the way they had met in the beginning.

“I…may need some assistance,” Erik replied slowly, having to force the words out and make himself admit to needing help. It wasn’t an easy process. “I seem to have been injured.”
“What happ-“ The word was cut off as Charles rolled to a stop and just stared at Erik. That was the first sign that things were worse than he had originally thought they were.
“I was shot,” Erik stated simply, looking at Charles who took another moment before seeming to jump into action.
