Summary
Fern finds himself in an unlikely situation when Breezy takes a sudden interest in him. She is one of the first people to see him as preferable to Finn. Unfortunately, Fern is quick to find the relationship unsatisfying, as his sexual entanglements with his new woman only serve to remind him of what he’s lost; he can no longer feel the same sort of pleasure. These thoughts turn into yearning which turns into something much darker. He begins to give into it against his own better judgement.
