Summary
The war ended early, when Iroh usurped his brother from power after his cruel Agni Kai against Zuko. But instead of becoming Fire Lord, Iroh helped transition the Fire Nation into a federal republic led by a chancellor, effectively abolishing the absolute monarchy. As a result the royal family is no more, and Iroh takes Zuko and Azula under his wing and leaves for Ember Island.
Now a decade later, Zuko and Azula work as bounty hunters/vigilantes and get along better than they ever had. But then Zuko receives a message from one distraught Chief Hakoda and Master Pakku of the Southern Water Tribe. Their mission for him: find and return the chief's daughter back to her family by any means necessary.
What he didn't know, is that he will be chasing his future and destiny as well...

It all started because of fidget spinners.
Zuko remembers the day clearly—he was walking down the halls with Sokka, his boyfriend, who was happily spinning his fidget spinner, as one with a fidget spinner does.
It just so happened that Zuko’s ex and current best friend, Jet, was walking in the opposite direction at the time, twirling his own fidget spinner.
Jet and Sokka had never really gotten along well; they were always tense, defensive, and quick to anger around each other. But, since they were in the same friend group and both cared deeply for Zuko, they sucked it up.
Until the fidget spinners.

Azula doesn't even like girls. Besides, she has a boyfriend, for Agni's sake. So why does she keep admiring every little aspect of the transfer? Nothing bothers Azula. Azula's brother may have shamed Father, but Azula was perfect. Still is perfect. But why does it bother her that the transfer student seems so intimidated by her?
Yue just wants to survive her first year at Ba Sing Se High, or public school in general. But it turns out that school is pretty confusing. Especially when you accidently get roped into befriending 3 of the most popular girls in school? And why does the most scariest (and hottest) one hate her so much?
Ty Lee and Mai are good at keeping secrets. More specifically, a very special secret. Not even Azula knows it, and they are hoping to keep it that way. Unfortunately, somehow the transfer student figured it out, so Mai thinks keeping a close watch on Yue seems like a very good idea, even if Ty Lee has no idea Yue knows. Mai also figures it would be fun to play a little mind game with Azula. Why wouldn't she, after what Azula did?
Ty Lee doesn't know why Mai and Yue are being so secretive, but she doesn't like it. Although, it is pretty fun to tease Azula.

"I'm never happy." Zuko answers.
Sokka huffs, placing his hands in his pockets as he stands tall and proud. "Oh, then I won't shut up." He squeaks as Zuko pushes him down, his arms locked with his hands on his pockets, failing to balance him.
"Now, I'm happy." Zuko says, looking at him with amusement before turning around to leave. Sokka follows his back with his eyes, contemplating on what to do next.
Spirits, this could go horribly wrong.
But does Sokka care? Not really. The Universe has already fucked up his life to this point, what's another?
(or Sokka has to be pretend to be Zuko's friend to get into the football team. it doesn't go exactly as he plans.)

The garden was quiet, lit only by the occasional lamp and the full moon. Yue’s satin slippers made no sound as she walked. She took a deep breath of the green-smelling breeze.
Eventually her wandering led her to a garden bower, half-hidden behind rose bushes and flowering trees. Another young woman was already occupying the structure, and the surprise of it was enough to delay the following realization for a moment: this was the woman that had captured her attention not half an hour earlier.

The Fire Nation never attacked. They tried. But the Northern Tribe had become paranoid. They struck just as the Sozin attempted to launch his own takeover, and the two powers didn't so much as neutralize each other as blow up and cover everyone in soot.
Now, after the untimely death of Princess Yue, both Water Tribes have decided to defend the only heir to their chiefdoms. And so, at age 11, Sokka, son of Hakoda, disappears without a trace.
It's safe to say not everyone is happy with this arrangement.

The Fire Nation has always held control over the other three nations. It was a relationship that worked until Fire Lord Sozin became greedy with power. When the Earth Kingdom, Air Nomads, and Water Tribe all came together to rebel against the Fire Nation and gain their independence. Fire Lord Sozin used the comet to his advantage and ends the rebellion. As apart of the new treaty set forth by the rulers of each nation a game was created. Eight contestants would be picked from each nation to compete to become a guardian of the empire. For the past hundred years, the Fire Lords have only chosen children from unimportant families. Leaving children of nobility and royalty to grow old and continue their lines. That all changed when Fire Lord Azulon changed the order of succession on his death bed. Fire Lord Ozai was crowned soon after and ordered that all children rather they are high born or low born must be placed into the selection process. Now the 100th year of the games is set with a group of competitors made up of young nobles and royals. Only one can become the next Guardian and return home. Who will win?
