Evangeline had enough to worry about already. Joining Hogwarts as a fifth year, dodging constant attacks from evil goblins, completing endless tasks from her professors, and trying to keep up with her regular studies was taking up enough time. On top of it all, however, she couldn't seem to shake a certain annoying, scheming, troublemaking Slytherin.

Harry doesn't mind that his new friend is half hippogriff. Harry thinks Jack is really cool and they become close. However a certain hybriphobic (fear of hybrids) racist HATES that Jack was accepted into Hogwarts in the first place.

He wasn't sure how he'd run away from the consequences yet, but he was sure he'd manage it. Facing the consequences would have solved almost as many problems as not making the bad decisions in the first place… but Xanthus knew better than to assume he'd start now.
