A fanfic based on the show Arcane with inspiration from the Victorian era, which historically was also the prime of cowboys. It follows Vi and Caitlyn in a more complicated relationship, their statuses and social standards making their bond struggle, the string that ties them together holding on to both of them for dear life. It's my very first time being on Ao3 or even writing and posting it on the internet, on top of that I'm not a native speaker of English so I apologize for any mistakes, and if people point them out to me I will fix them. All that being said I did this for fun and I don't expect it to become anything huge.

Ekko e Jinx cresceram lado a lado, amigos de infância, primeiros amores. Mas a vida depois do ensino médio tem uma forma estranha de puxar cada um para longe: novas cidades, novas rotinas, novos futuros. E, como costuma acontecer, eles acabam se afastando. Não por escolha, mas pela inevitabilidade de crescer.
Às vezes, crescer significa deixar algo, ou alguém, para trás.
Jinx permanece em Zaun, onde as luzes da cidade escondem as estrelas que ela costumava ver da janela da casa dele. Ekko segue para Piltover, onde tudo brilha demais para alguém que ainda sente falta de ver a Lua e pensar nela. Entre eles, fica essa sensação amarga: a de ver o outro conquistar exatamente aquilo que sempre quis, enquanto um sente preso, estático, como se não tivesse saído do lugar.
Eles se encontram de vez em quando, um café rápido, um abraço desajeitado que nunca fizeram antes, mas agora parece a única forma de segurar o que está escapando. E, nos momentos silenciosos, cada um imagina uma versão alternativa da própria vida: aquela em que ainda têm dezessete anos, moram na mesma rua, não estão magoados, e conseguem dizer tudo o que nunca disseram.

As you take your new role in stride and build a stronger relationship with Vi and Powder, your feelings for Vander grow and you realize that being a foster parent is more complicated than you may have thought. The caseworker hints that a romantic relationship between a foster resource and next-of-kin could be harmful to the girls. You realize you may be faced with a very difficult choice: continue to be a responsible foster resource for Vi and Powder or give in to your feelings for Vander?
