This shall be the first of a series of Danny as Skull as I explore the concept that hasn't yet taken off yet has so much potential to be fantabulastic! This one in particular is probably not gonna be great unless you're looking for inspiration bc I plan on this being just for the rough idea lines i have so that they actually exist in a place other than my head and in a physical notebook, but I do hope this concept catches because I genuinely believe it's great and has a lot of potential.

Things had been a little... awkward for Danny, to say the least. Nothing had really changed on the outside, (ghosts still attacked his town, Valerie still tried to hunt him on occasion, Vlad was still Vlad), but there was an almost tentative peace. Not the kind where everyone stopped fighting each other, because that would be too nice for Danny. But the kind where he didn't have to worry about anyone dying on a daily basis.
That left getting a present for the box ghost's baby shower, his parents, and worrying about whatever the hell was going on with Clockwork. Simple. Easy.

Summary
Danny ends up trapped in the Thermos with Ember, Johnny, and Kitty. As they pass the time together playing games, Danny learns more about ghosts—including the fact that ghost cores can bond with each other to form family-like relationships, which he accidentally discovers the hard way.
When the four get released, Sam and Tucker have many questions, particularly as to why they're all wearing each others' clothes and why Danny and Ember emerged from the Thermos cuddling. Somehow this also leads to the realization that Danny hasn't aged since his accident.
Then, Danny and Ember find themselves in detention—during which Danny's ghostly identity gets revealed to some of the last people he'd ever want to share his secret with.

Once the pain reached its peak, Danny couldn’t take it anymore and wailed in agony, stumbling back and forth. His screams crashed into his friends and the equipment around the portal, blasting them back with deadly force, knocking Sam and Tucker unconscious. He thought he saw his parents banging on the reinforced window, and he definitely saw Jazz stumbling forward as fast as she could, bleeding from multiple wounds and every opening on her face before Danny’s breath gave out and Jazz collapsed forward less than a foot away from where he was standing. The portal was stable, even if the machine was half crushed and sparking like no tomorrow.
Danny gazed blankly straight ahead, seeing in the reflection on the reinforced window that he had silver hair and glowing green eyes while his parents face seemed beyond distraught. Then, he slowly started to fall backwards into the portal. Jazz tried to reach out to him, and her body seemed to be flickering, but the only thing he could think was,
