    Which was strange, because he normally didn’t get mail. Well, not personal mail. Or, at least, he never got to see it. Shinra screening tended to be rather thorough after all.

    To his surprise, the package held a... video game of all things. Final Fantasy VII? Huh. Useless waste of time... that Hojo would absolutely not approve of... perhaps just this once...

      Siblings Olivia and Matt are transmigrated into Crisis Core era FFVII. Matt is a huge Final Fantasy fan, so when he sees Shinra coming, he runs like hell. Olivia knows nothing about Final Fantasy, so she ends up in Hojo's lab.

      Hojo delivers Olivia into Sephiroth's care, hoping to breed his new alien specimen with his prize SOLDIER. Instead, the two form a deadly alliance.

      The strangest thing about a body like Sephiroth's was that nudity didn't make him more vulnerable.

      His hot villain getup was intimidating, for sure. It broadened his shoulders, emphasized his height. But it also added personality, for lack of a better word. Black leather for that cool bad guy vibe. Voluminous skirt on the coat for a regal flare. The harness was clearly a thirst trap. Remove the getup and he was just as threatening but so much harder to read. Scarier, in a lot of ways.

    Just as Genesis came to terms with the people he lost being really gone forever and begun to move on, even started to let himself have a thing for the reclusive blond hero of this alien future, he's ripped away and thrown back into the life he half-wished a thousand times he could go back to in moments of despair and nostalgia. But now it’s oh so different because although he's gone back to the time he can never really go back to the time. He's a different person now but the people he never really stopped loving, who died or were lost and are now standing before him again exactly the same as before you lost them, don’t know that. They could never understand even if he told them. He can’t even apologize for all the ways he hurt them because it wasn’t them. All he can do now is gather all that splintered guilt and try to shape into something resembling a warped shield (he's never been an expert at that craft—a project this complex requires far more skilled hands than his scorched ones, but he's all there is) and make sure it doesn’t happen again. All he can offer any of them is this nameless haunted thing he calls love. Will he desperately try to go back to who he was or will he hope they can learn to love this new him?

    Cloud made a promise to Gaia, believing he would return to the past to stop Sephiroth from erasing Cloud’s existence. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned. It didn’t help that the Goddess elected to solve the issue of his continued existence through the use of Sephiroth’s cells. Couldn’t she have made him a bit bigger at least?

    When Sephiroth was called to an emergency in Hojo’s laboratory, he didn’t expect to find the Professor dead, nor was he expecting to walk out a father to a mysterious five-year-old boy. Nor was Shinra, for that matter. Nevertheless, he’ll adjust. He hopes.

    Shinra’s SOLDIERs hadn’t expected to babysit Sephiroth’s new son, who may or may not be looking to commit patricide.

    (AKA Gaia saw Sephiroth needing a family and yeeted Cloud at him like a son-shaped grenade.)

    Sephiroth faces an unforeseen predicament while at the front lines in the war against Wutai. There is a mysterious baby in his tent, one with startling similarities to himself in fact. Thus begins the upheaval of everything Sephiroth thought he knew about the world and himself as the infant throws him straight into the chaotic jaws of parenthood.

    Elsewhere, after the events of Advent Children, a new conflict arises and threatens everything Cloud Strife had built for himself and all that he holds dear. Despite being unable to win the fight, Gaia refuses to let her Champion fall under the weight of this threat. Her Champion, although reluctant to accept the form of her aid and its price, does not refuse the mission given to him by the Planet. He will set things right, one last time.

    Meanwhile, everyone else is wondering how to retain their sanity as the First-Class SOLDIER decides to adopt a baby despite having no experience in parenthood or childcare, in the middle of a war by the way, and an enhanced man of unknown origins is dead set on being an ecoterrorist with a vendetta.

    Otherwise known as: Sephiroth adopts a baby and it becomes everybody's problem, especially Cloud's.

    “Oh, dearest,” Genesis smiles again, deceptively sweet. “I wasn’t talking about myself.”
