Summary
It’s different. “Connor”.
Bland.
Hank thought it had a stick up its ass before, but this is something else. Every morning it’ll greet him in that annoying synthetic lilt, all placid smiles and canned platitudes. It’s banned from the field, too, just so that Hank never gets a break from its scrawny silhouette in his periphery. Haunting the precinct like a plastic specter. Gone are the little smiles, the attitude he thought he’d caught glimpses of. No more weird-ass small talk. Figures it’d drop the human act now that the gig is up.
Still, it creeps him out. The way it’ll look at him sometimes — wide brown eyes with nobody in the driver’s seat. He’s pretty sure it used to blink.
(The android revolution falls to a bullet. Hank returns to work to a familiar face.)

Holy shit this is so good. Its not overwhelmingly sad in that whump way you usually read but its a deep sort of depression that reads when you put yourself in the lieutenant's shoes. Connor is treated terribly but its seen in a way someone sees a weird machine, from Hank's perspective: its definitely not human but its not a toaster either... at least thats what we think, at first. The traci was really unexpected, I thought it was north at first since she was also a companion model, although not a traci but close enough. I hope the next part delivers just as well as this one! Im sure it will.

the detective just knows there's more to him than meets the eye.-

This was so unnecessarily cruel. to shun Connor out of Hank's home, not letting him in even when he scratches at the door. to force him to go to the Connor house. and to not even let him in when a storm lashes at him outside. what was hunk thinking... this makes me sick...

Summary
A really kind Deviant Connor has some flashes from what it would be like if he weren't kind Deviant Connor but cruel cold Machine Connor
AKA
I did a Machine Playthrough because I am a mazochist, it was one of the hardest things I ever did in video games and it hurt a lot. xD Basically that's it. I do not think it is canon, it never will be for me.

Summary
“What happens if I pull this trigger, hm?” the Lieutenant speaks again, dragging the startled android’s attention back to him.
“Nothing?” he prods with his words, eyes twinkling as they reflect the street light directly above them. “Oblivion?”Connor is out of his depth, so miserably out of his depth.
There had been nothing just moments ago. Empty nothingness, orders, commands, inputs, executions… the occasional visit to Amanda.
Words on a screen, wires connected to wires, biocomponents running and flowing and clicking in and out of place but there was still nothing. Now?
It’s cold.-

Summary
"My name is Connor, RK900. My predecessor was unfortunately deactivated," the android stated coolly. He had none of the emotional inflictions his partner had and sounded like a soldier ready for battle, "I am one of the 200,000 units of Connors deployed nationally to aid in the neutralization and capture of any of the remaining deviants after the revolution. I have been assigned your partner in the Detroit Police Department, seeing as you have had experience working with my prototype."
Hank felt his heart drop. Everything after his first statement went of his head. Connor had been deactivated. His partner. The goofy looking dumbass who was finally showing signs of life. Deactivated. That was the same thing as being officially dead, wasn't it?
....
RK900 struggled to work with the lieutenant he was assigned to. The DPD had known the man had worked very closely with his prototype, so they assigned him with the lieutenant. But the man hated him, and was attached to his obsolete predecessor.
He may have to investigate the RK800 further. He may have to bend some rules. After all, RK800 had done it, and without having done so, he'd never have suceeded his mission.

Summary
“Moment of truth, Hank. Am I a living being… or just a machine?”
Hank stares at him, now. His eyes, full of life just earlier today, when he reminded Connor of how he’d spared Kamski’s android, are now glossy with something else.
He preconstructs every possibility. He knows the regret in the man’s gaze will not save him. He knows he is unsalvageable, a heartless monster. He just waits, now, for him to let go.
Except:
“Was everything fake?”
And Connor stares.
“What?”
( Or, Connor has one last chance to become deviant, on that fateful night, on that one rooftop. As always, it is Hank to reach his hand out to him and offer it. )

"Fear is a human emotion, one of the oldest emotions known to mankind, its strength paralleled only by love, or hatred, and pride. Hank doesn’t understand its existence within an android. He doesn’t at all, but it's there."

Summary
“Get some rest, Lieutenant.” Connor whispers. “Those androids aren’t in pain anymore.”
He doesn’t know why he said that. Androids don’t feel pain in any case. But Hank seems mollified by the words, his gaze going soft at the edges.
“What about you?” Hank asks.
I’m not alive, I can’t feel. That’s what he could say.
“I don’t know,” is what comes out instead.
