In hindsight, Markus thinks he fell in love with Connor the first time Connor asked if he was safe with Carl, two weeks after he was first activated. He falls in love with him again every time afterward - so, roughly once a month for the next ten years.
For his part, Connor wasn't really sure until it occurred to him that, if Markus had deviated first, Connor would have followed without hesitation.

Hank knows that machines can't care or fear or be hurt. Connor agrees but for some reason that pisses Hank off... There's something not right about CyberLife's involvement with the police and there's something not right about Connor. The sooner he can get rid of him the better.
Connor is finally in beta testing after rigorous optimization and validation. "Outside" is full of colours and smells. People say things that don't mean what they sound like they mean. Androids are meant to make life easier for humans, but not all humans are happy about it. The mission is most important though. Once he has passed beta testing he will be perfect- Amanda said so- therefore he must be perfect to pass beta. He'll finally be good enough and worthy of all of the time and money CyberLife has spent on him.

It's been two weeks since Markus was victorious in his fight to free his people from the recall centers. Detroit belongs to Jericho now, but the war is far from over. It doesn't surprise him when another RK800 appears before him with a mission to end his life. What does surprise him is how quickly things unravel when Markus' proposed "solution" entwines himself with the deviant hunter and blurs the line between enemies and lovers.

It did everything that Amanda wanted of it, completed every task to the letter. It captured and killed every deviant it came across and did whatever was necessary to keep the investigation moving forward, ensured it went as smoothly as possible. It endured the foul moods and foul words of the humans it was meant to serve, and it suffered and even perished once from the hands of the man it was meant to assist. Yet, it wasn't enough.
He wasn't enough.
(This one-shot was written with the idea that Machine-Connor was successful in stopping the revolution. Upon hearing that he will be deactivated and replaced, he deviates and escapes across the border to find a new life for himself.)

The gunshot had rocked him to his core. He'd known exactly what it meant.
Making the decision to break through his programming hadn't even been an choice. It simply happened. And Connor had, as anyone else would have, rushed into the house, surely a tomb now, screaming and desperately attempting to resurrect his partner, perhaps the only living being who'd given him a chance, and the only living being who truly needed him. It didn't matter that his programming described the body as DECEASED.

Connor didn’t like seeing him like this. Having moved in with the Lieutenant for the sake of convenience, he witnessed a lot more of his everyday life, and therefore a lot of the little frustrations he went through each day. Anderson was easily irritated. Connor was in no danger of having this irritation taken out on him, and there was a very low risk of Anderson taking it out on himself, but something about this sort of behaviour made Connor uneasy. This was unlikely to have an effect on the case they were currently working on, because as easily as Anderson was riled up, he was distracted again with equal effortlessness, and yet. For no reason he could pin down, Connor didn’t like this.
So, he rolled up his sleeve and offered.
“The fuck do you want?” was Anderson’s response, having only taken his eyes off the road for a split second. But then, in the brief moment that Connor thought of what to say, he seemed to process what he had seen. “You’ve gotta be kidding me.”
“If you are comfortable trusting me with your password, I can connect to the car in your phone’s stead."

A character concept/study of a variation of machine Connor, and how his distinctive personality came into being. Against all odds, Connor somehow initially survives his fall from atop the Phillips' apartment, only to be abandoned by CyberLife and spend what feels like hours (probably actually only minutes, but impossible to say) slowly dying from the impact. He documents his reflections on the experience in a log, which he commences writing to help him preserve his sanity in case he continues to be repetitively destroyed.
