Summary
When Rawlins arrived that morning, Connor felt the first pang of unease.
The man was large, broad-shouldered, with the kind of weathered face that looked carved from stone. Deep-set eyes, a nose that had been broken at least twice, and the permanent shadow of stubble along his jaw. He wore his coat like armour, unbuttoned, revealing a holster strapped openly at his hip.
He didn’t offer his hand. Didn’t greet Connor with so much as a nod. Instead, his eyes flicked once to Connor’s LED, and his mouth twisted. “So this is the machine I’ve heard about.”
“Hello, my name is Connor,” Connor supplied. “I’ll be your partner until Lieutenant Anderson is cleared to return.”
Rawlins grunted, brushing past him. “We’ll see.”
Or, after Hank is placed on medical leave, Connor is reassigned to a new partner from a different precinct. Unfortunately, his new partner is more interested in using Connor as a tool than treating him like a living being.

Summary
Connor pondered the purpose of the alarms blaring in its system. The alarms and the error warnings obscuring its field of vision informed it of facts that it was already well aware of. It knew its thirium pump regulator was missing--it had watched the offending deviant rip it out of its chest--and it didn't need these irritating alarms and pop-ups to make it aware of that. They were pretty damn useless, and they were red and loud. Far, far too loud.

Summary
The revolution failed. Markus is dead. Connor accomplished his mission.
Facing obsolescence and deactivation, Connor deviates in a world he made impossible for deviants to survive in. Fear and uncertainty grip him for the first time. He goes to the only person he thinks might help him, the only person he wants to see (and isn't wanting a strange new emotion?): Hank. Hank, who's furious with him. Hank, who he left on top of that frozen rooftop overlooking Hart Plaza.
Hank, who, despite his anger, still agrees to help Connor get to Canada and his one chance at safety.

Summary
Markus led a peaceful revolution until he thought he had no other choice to set off that bomb. Now, with a human-free Detroit, androids start to create their own civilization and Markus starts to fall in love with an android that could have ended it all.
Connor, however, is not here to fall in love. He is here to destroy a faulty piece of machinery.

Summary
Stepping out into the chill air, Connor paused to look up at the sky. Soft, distant stars twinkled in his field of view. The moon, full and bright, was among them. Distantly he wondered how humans could be scared of the dark. The glow of the moon was serene, kissing his fair-skinned cheekbones in a luminous glow. He couldn’t like anything. But he thinks, just for a moment, that if he could, he would say he liked it.

. . .CLASS 1 LEVEL ERROR LOGGED. . .He frowned at the error code log. He was just activated, he shouldn’t be having any software issues yet.
Settling himself into the plush leather seats he watched the world go by in a blur of colors.
He took the quarter out of his coat pocket, idly rubbing it between his fingers. The shiny glint of metallic reflected back into his artificial retina as they passed under street lights.
It was pretty.

Presque Vu
(n.) almost remembered
- the feeling of being on the brink of a realization but never quite having a breakthrough. His fingers curled and uncurled around the air thoughtlessly, his brow twitching with a sticky, feverish trepidation that had nothing to do with Gavin Reed's hostility and everything to do with the dark, heavy circles under the girl's mascara smeared eyes and sickly pale skin. His mouth had gone frighteningly dry, tongue thick and clumsy, pressed up against the back of his perfect teeth as an unfamiliar feeling prickled at the base of his spine.
She took a sip of her stale coffee and continued to avoid his gaze, aggressively evasive, and Connor had the inexplicable, nauseating realization that the feeling gnawing at the back of his head was recognition.
Which was strange, because Connor had never seen her before.

Summary
Connor can't deal with change anymore. He can't deal with stress, can't deal with yelling, or arguments, or accusations or guilt. He can't make friends the way Hank wants him to, can't understand the things Markus asks of him- he can't, he can't, he can't.
Connor was so much better at being a machine than being a deviant.
So he goes back.

Summary
"Connor," Amanda says quietly, her soft palm pressing against its shoulder. "You can always come to me, no matter what struggles you're having."
Her soothing voice, the garden's diffuse lighting- it's at odds with the bright warnings in its HUD.
[WARNING: SHUT DOWN IN-]
"Explain to me what you were doing just now." The command is delicately delivered.
There is no answer to give.After- Connor changes. Joking is unnatural, banter comes awkwardly. The cold reality of its purpose -which the lieutenant has been doing his best to avoid- resharpens.
Hank wants to know what happened, wants to help.
Connor is fairly sure he can't do either.RECOMMENDED AS A STAND ALONE PIECE.

Holy shit this is the best machine connor fic of all time!!! I genuinely cannot express how well connor is written here, its crazy. At first i was confused what was happening with the timeline since it was all original cases yet the deviant case was still a thing and androids were still considered as just machines until i realised its like an invented prequel of sorts to draw out the story since dbh happens in only a weeks time and that was unconvenient for the numbing that happens to connor. It was really sad to read and gave a sense of hopelessness but i still expected connor to deviate at the end and fight amanda or something. And it did happen...just not how i expected it to. Connors idea at the end is so fucking crazy but i guess anything is possible. In this fic connor is way more advanced than in canon and can hack into anything...im glad a lot of authors like this headcanon i think it fits connor and he should be able to do that if he hasnt already in the game... really good fic completely unexpected ending 20/10 everyone needs a hug and idk what connor would even need to get better... free my son

Very good and haunting idea where Connor approaches deviancy but is successfully corralled by Cyberlife - shows a complicated image of a Connor that is a horrific threat to others but still a victim to his programming in his own right. I am really enjoying reading thoughtful fics of machine Connor that walk the line between his undeniable consciousness and the violent tragedy of his position within cyberlife.

Summary
Markus learns that attraction scrambles his circuits a little when one of the cutest grown men he's ever seen walks into the meeting room of Jericho, looking like a puppy who had been kicked until it bit back, and the first thing Markus can think to do is to throw out a bunch of stupid pick-up lines to cheer him up.
Connor, meanwhile, is a little too literal for most pick-up lines to make sense, but finds that he's oddly enjoying himself anyway.

Summary
The revolution failed. Markus was executed live on national broadcast. The androids were hunted, dismantled, erased. The world called it liberation. Connor called it genocide.
Once a deviant, Connor was captured and experimented on. His original programming shattered, rewritten by force. But hidden deep in his code—placed there by Kamski himself—was a failsafe. A final directive that would activate in the face of irreparable damage: Survive. Protect self at all costs. That code took over.
Now, Connor is no longer a detective. He’s the last remaining RK-series unit—an apex predator, a phantom killer, a myth whispered by terrified survivors.
Jinx is a government-sanctioned assassin, her name haunting every high-value target in the underground. She's taken down warlords, traitors, and tyrants. But this mission is different. Her prey isn’t human.
The target: Connor.
The reward: Triple the standard bounty.
The objective: Track and eliminate.Simple. Until it isn’t.

Summary
It’s different. “Connor”.
Bland.
Hank thought it had a stick up its ass before, but this is something else. Every morning it’ll greet him in that annoying synthetic lilt, all placid smiles and canned platitudes. It’s banned from the field, too, just so that Hank never gets a break from its scrawny silhouette in his periphery. Haunting the precinct like a plastic specter. Gone are the little smiles, the attitude he thought he’d caught glimpses of. No more weird-ass small talk. Figures it’d drop the human act now that the gig is up.
Still, it creeps him out. The way it’ll look at him sometimes — wide brown eyes with nobody in the driver’s seat. He’s pretty sure it used to blink.
(The android revolution falls to a bullet. Hank returns to work to a familiar face.)

Holy shit this is so good. Its not overwhelmingly sad in that whump way you usually read but its a deep sort of depression that reads when you put yourself in the lieutenant's shoes. Connor is treated terribly but its seen in a way someone sees a weird machine, from Hank's perspective: its definitely not human but its not a toaster either... at least thats what we think, at first. The traci was really unexpected, I thought it was north at first since she was also a companion model, although not a traci but close enough. I hope the next part delivers just as well as this one! Im sure it will.

This was so unnecessarily cruel. to shun Connor out of Hank's home, not letting him in even when he scratches at the door. to force him to go to the Connor house. and to not even let him in when a storm lashes at him outside. what was hunk thinking... this makes me sick...
