“What do you want, George?”
Max sounds grumpy, and George can hear lots of voices in the background. Instead of answering in words, a sob escapes from his mouth. Max swears softly, and George can hear that he is moving locations.
“Schat, where are you?”
His tone has changed to one that is too gentle to be aimed at George. George, who badmouthed him in the media, George, who tried to get Max race banned, George, who made Max leave this morning. He doesn’t notice he's saying this out loud until Max interrupts him.
“George. I don’t care about any of that right now, Liefje. Are you at your hotel? I’m on my way baby.”

“Your… your clothes. You left them in the garage,” George explained, like he was shocking himself back into the moment. He held a black garment back towards Lewis, taking a step backwards and putting it between their bodies. Lewis had completely forgotten about the unused outfit options he'd left there. That would've been a jackpot for a wayward intern or engineer to find. He smiled, shaking his head.
“Thanks, man,” he smiled, looking up at George courteously. Man, was he tall, Lewis thought, when he stood straight up like that. He was stock still, just staring at Lewis, unmoving.
“Erm. George? Something the matter?” George’s face flushed further, and he swallowed.
“Your patch,” he said, almost like he was choking; “did you take it off?”
