After the death of Mitzi May, Ivy Pepper becomes the new proprietress of Lackadaisy. Not only did she inherit the estate that was founded by her late godfather, Atlas May, but she also inherited the debts and conflicts pertaining to keep a sinking speakeasy afloat. Not to mention that a certain musician begins to stray farther away seeking the cause of Mitzi's demise.

Zib's band is in financial trouble, and their manager, Mordecai, decides the best way to get money fast is to marry Zib off to a wealthy lady, much to his chagrin. The lady in question, Mitzi, turns out to not be so bad though, and feelings blossom anyway.
But things take a turn for the weird and the macabre when Zib, completely by accident, marries a dead man.
Or, the plot of Corpse Bride, but with Lackadaisy characters, and hopefully enough changes to make things interesting.

Rocky has found himself in another dangerous occupation and Freckle is adjusting to life as a father. Summary
Mordecai Heller, Atlas' bookkeeper and right-hand man, who kept a cold and calculating demeanor and preferred to work individually had somehow grew fond of Viktor's company. After nearly twenty five years of his existance, Mordecai wouldn't have envisioned himself in having any interest other than serving Atlas May and keeping his employer's empire at its peak.
Mordecai found himself to be self-efficient enough to keep Atlas' finances secure and organized. When Atlas hired Viktor as a triggerman, Mordecai found the surly Slovak to be boorish at best. Boorish being a generous definition amidst Mordecai's extensive vocabulary. If Atlas wasn't the one who had assigned them both to work together, the tuxedo cat would've critiqued Viktor of every single thing he disliked about the barrel-chested lug.
Viktor unnerved him.
