He laughs again, pushing himself from the wall and moving over to you, his large hand sneaking around your back to press you against him. He discards his cigarette swiftly.
"Abrams," you begin, taking a last drag of your cigarette before he takes it from between your lips and takes a long drag himself, flicking the thing away soon after. "I'm serious, we gotta stop whatever this is."
"Yeah, yeah," he says, blowing the smoke of your own cigarette back into your face, the familiar scent of whiskey on his breath. "I'll stop when you convince me that's what you actually want."

Unfortunately, he didn’t plan on his hideout being exposed.
Nor did he expect to run into a strange critter who, much to his chagrin, imprinted on him.
At least the little guy offered him a new place to stay for a bit, even if both were not sure why.

A cold metal hand lands on their back. “I have a room at the Baroness,” Calico says, stepping into their line of sight. Her glasses are cracked from the violence, a nasty purple bruise already forming on her cheek. “I can easily upgrade to a two bed room, if you’d like.”
One battle on the same side will not solve five years of animosity from attempted murder. Pocket may be an urchin, but they do have standards for forgiveness, and Calico has not reached them. They’re quite certain she never will, and that she doesn’t truly want to at all. They were once on the other end of her gun, so why act as if they are fine now?
They would be better off with Mo and Krill. They’re used to sleeping on the ground, in alleyways, more often than not inside the suitcase. They don’t know if they can trust Calico, she could still be planning to kill them, finish what she started—
But... fuck, they haven’t slept in a bed in weeks.

The ritual fails on both sides. Pocket and Calico decide that getting what they wanted would be easier to achieve together rather than separately.

Summary
This place has no shortage of freaks, and this guy is only adding to the roster. Large steel bolts stick out of his broad shoulders, lighting up the room with bright green sparks every few seconds. His left hand is pale, covered in tattoos of strange runes, interrupted by stitches that surround his wrist and lead to an arm that looks almost like it’s decaying, the skin grey and dull, another silver bolt protruding next to the elbow. He picks up the glass with fingers that are twined in barbed wire, and as he tips his head back to sip at it, his long black hair slips back, showing bolts in his neck and stitches along his mouth. He sets the glass down with a soft clink, and his hair falls over his face once again.
Pocket knocks back the last gulp of their rye and coke. Yep, another freak for the collection. Not that that’s a bad thing in Pocket’s eyes. They’d much rather be around freaks than the type of people Maximilian associated with.

It's the night before the ritual, and Pocket has a few drinks to calm their nerves. They end up getting more than a little acquainted with one of the weirder freaks in the Hidden King's alliance.
