“How come you’re out here by yourself anyhow?”
Caitlyn turned back, saw the employee had set their chin on their forearm, silver ringed fingers drumming lazily against the hand rail as they watched her curiously.
“I could ask you the same question,” she fired back.
“Well, I work here. I am obligated to be here. Am being paid to be here in fact. I also ain’t the one in the fancy jumpsuit and jewellery.”
Caitlyn let her gaze fall to the party attire she had up until this moment forgotten she was wearing.
“Oh right”.
“Plans fall through at the last minute?”
“Something like that,” she huffed.
AKA Caitlyn Kiramman is having a pretty crappy New Year's Eve until she stumbles into a local mall and discovers that maybe not all hope is lost.

Summary
What is it to be born into power?
Vi was born to the first House of Zaun, meant to rule the kingdom in their own time. However, tragedy struck the House before Vi even began their lessons on what it would mean to lead. Having lost both their parents and far too young to take the throne Vi and Zaun find themselves vassals of Piltover's High Court. As Vi grows up in contempt of Piltover's oversight, they try to answer the question of what it means to be born into power and what it means to wield. They want to be the ruler Zaun needs to win its freedom, to be the ruler their parents would be proud of. But the road before them is unpaved, and Vi is more than the position thrust upon them by birth. They are also a person with a heart. A traitorous one that wants nothing more than the very things that could jeopardize Zaun's future.
Can Vi reconcile the warring desires inside them without losing one or the other, or worse, everything?
