A few years after the android revolution, Connor is adapting to his new status as a full-fledged police detective, but he still feels out of place in the precinct. At least he has Hank there to support him. However, his fragile peace is broken following a string of strange and brutal deaths. Connor and Hank get drawn into a new case. It starts at the Rappaccini manor, where they find the owner dead and his daughter missing.
Tissa Rappaccini had never been outside the mansion. It was for her own protection, her father said. But she knew there was more to it. As early as she could remember, she'd been tending her father's garden, a garden of beautiful flowers and berries, a garden of poison and death. But somehow, Tissa was unaffected, and she loved it. The plants would never hurt her. As long as she was there, she could bear it, the loneliness, the despair. At least the garden kept her company.

Hank never cherished breathing through his nose until it was too late, and this time wasn’t any different. The sick season didn’t care about android uprisings, socio-political tensions, and overall strain on society’s backbone, therefore it also didn’t care about Hank falling ill at the least convenient time.
But Connor did care – about all of these things. And dozens more. But like, a normal amount, okay? He certainly didn’t spiral thinking about New Jericho, his reputation, the future of his race, his deviancy, Hank’s wellbeing, his past, the future of the world, his career, the workforce, his own future… Yup, just a regular guy, having regular thoughts, buying a regular amount of groceries and over-the-counter medicine.
