Basically... Lampert confesses to Infected, but at the time Infected doesn't reciprocate.
Lampert has to live through the pain of the rejection, but evemtuslly forgets about it and falls out of love, just in time for Infected to realize he might've caugbt feelings for Lampert a few months later!
During all of this, Lampert has to deal with increasingly frustrating nightmares from Folly and Mark's complaining about Wallter leaving him, which serves to get him in a grumpy mood! Poor guy, can't catch a break, right?
Infected tries his hardest to get Lampert to like him back again, and asks for advice from literally everyone(/hj), and it works! They may or may not live a happily ever after.
