Inspiration: I waited forever for Logan (while being so very torn about not choosing Owen instead). Ate up the former outlaw's romance quests, but then I was like... I should have married Owen a year ago (game time)... So I found a backup save from just over a year prior (game time) and decided to play from there to get with Owen instead. And that all just got me thinking, what else could the Builder change by going back in time if she wasn't bound by the game's script? And then I thought, what if she's not the only character who remembers the future? Spoilers for all the things.

The bottom of Sandrock’s job opening for a builder loudly proclaimed in bolded letters: "Prospective applicants must be willing to endure unforgiving and hazardous living conditions." For Kat, who had lived alone in the Peripheries all her life, even hazardous living conditions were an improvement. Starting over with nothing wasn’t new or scary, but the prospect of being near people was harder to swallow. Having made a habit of avoiding them as much as possible, she’s now determined to face her fears and learn what it means to have all the nice things she’s been missing out on—like friends, or maybe even lovers. Will determination be enough when she’s faced with the reality of living in a somewhat civilized society with rules and expectations? Will it be enough when her heart decides to challenge all her decisions? Will it be enough when her instincts tell her to run? Stay tuned…

Summary
Lucy left Highwind after suffering an attack in Highwind that left her physically and emotionally scarred. Wanting to get away from all she ever knew, she choose a place where she could start fresh, a place in the middle of the desert -Sandrock- a quiet town, where nothing happens, a place where she would be safe. If only she knew, what fate had in store for her.
MAJOR SPOILERS! Graphic violence, disturbing situations, drug use, suggestive sexual assault. This story is very dark at times, please don’t read if you are sensitive to any of the above things. I love Pen, but in this, he’s a terrible person.
In this story I do skip out some unimportant events, and the timeline is a little different. I change some of the dialogue and don’t go into much detail in some parts. For example when Lucy is going through an in game mission, I don’t want anyone reading through loads of dialogue when we all already know what happens, so I try and condense the missions into a few paragraphs. And use dialogue more when the characters are getting to know each other.
