Ichor continued to weep from her wounds. Staining her clothes, staining the marble, staining the soles of their Father’s sandals. Everywhere Apollo dared look seemed to be tainted with it.
If Athena was a mortal, she would be dead three times over already.
‘But she isn’t mortal.’ Apollo had to remind himself. ‘She won’t die she won’t die she won’t die she won’t die she won’t-’
But some quiet voice in the back of his mind whispered that that may not be the case.
They’ve never seen a god die before. But then again, they had never seen a god take one of Father’s lightning bolts to his face before. Let alone five.

There was a pause, a pause for Penelope to contemplate her decisions. Eventually, she walked to another part of the kitchen. "Very well. If you wish for this to be done as quickly as possible, I will call the cooks for additional aid and guidance."
Antinous smiled to himself.

Why did she feel fear? Not for herself, but for mortals?

Summary
Athena knew deep down that she'd be alright.
She knew that eventually, the pain would fade. Like a battle wound, it would be nothing but a dull buzz, before healing completely. Would she potentially be left with scars? Being a god, she wasn't completely sure. Maybe in the next millennia they'll fully blend in with her skin. Maybe the murky yellow in her left eye would change back to blue, or perhaps her hair would grow again.
No matter what happened, she'd eventually be fine.
But for now, this was her worst nightmare.
OR
Athena struggles alone with a fever in Apollo's infirmary after he's summoned away by Zeus, because of course Zeus needed him when Athena is basically dying at this point.

Finally, after what felt like hours, she made it towards the edges of Olympus, looking down into the wispy clouds and early morning light. Athena shivered at the chilling winds, her vision blurring for a moment, as she leaned her weight onto a column. She ignored the taste of ichor flooding her mouth, doing her best to swallow it down. She should be resting, and she knew Apollo would be furious when he realized his injured half-sister had snuck out of his domain.
But resting wasn't important. She needed to get to Odysseus, no matter how much pain she was in.

His eyes are drawn back to the center of the arena, to where Athena is still collapsed on the floor—there are too many wounds to count and there must be more that he can’t see, and his sister’s glow is flickering in and out, like a candle that will go out with the next gust of wind.
“I can’t leave Athena like that! Not when-”
Not when the same thing happened to my son Asclepius. Not when he felt the wrath of the lightning bolt and I couldn’t save him.
