Having grown tired of those pesky Wild Ratts always messing up his plans, Zach decided to get revenge in the best and easiest way he could think of: Creature Power Suit Malfunction! He already had miniature Disrupt-o-bots to enter their suits from last time he did this, so this was such an easy revenge!
...
Accept for the fact that Aviva was already a step ahead and made sure that Martin and Chris' suits couldn't be hacked like that again.
Zach tried messing with the suits for a good while before giving up, and he eventually completely forgot about it...Little did he know that him messing with those suits was actually going to cause problems for Chris and ESPECIALLY Martin a month later during a cave expedition gone wrong...

Martin was the self-sacrificial type. He was the one who woke up every night just to pull Chris out of a nightmare. He was the one who tested the more questionable technology Aviva whipped up. He was the one who took on extra tasks when someone wasn’t feeling well. He was the one who would take the blame when the brothers landed themselves in trouble. He was the one who would carry the burdens of everyone else around him, while locking his own away in a dark corner, and never once complain.
And Chris knew for a fact, the only reason Martin didn’t trade places with him when Diego dragged him away and locked him within his own mind was because his brother couldn’t work miracles.
But Chris didn’t think he could share this burden with Martin.
He decided he wouldn’t even give him the choice.

It wasn’t supposed to be like this.
Things weren’t supposed to happen like this.
This was his technology and Aviva’s inventions. He knew them both intimately, despite their rivalry. They weren’t supposed to malfunction, nor had they ever failed this badly.
They were the Wild Kratts, annoying and meddling catch-phrase spewing brothers that constantly foiled his plans. They were good, nature loving tree-huggers who wouldn’t hurt a fly. They healed and saved, not hurt.
They weren’t supposed to hurt him badly enough to bleed.
They weren’t supposed to look at him with something akin to feral hunger in their eyes, his own blood dripping from their teeth and coating the fur of their suits; vivid scarlet against familiar blue and green. His Zach-bots lay broken and torn to shreds, steel and metal giving away under relentless claws and teeth as the brothers had dismantled them methodically and deliberately.
This was never supposed to happen.
He understood now, what it meant to be hunted.
