“Shall the day ever come that we are not together,” Regis held his hand gingerly, placing a soft kiss on his knuckles like an earnest prince. “I'll make sure you get to smile on each and every horizon.”
Rene chuckled, face sprinkled with shy flush—as if the world was within his reach. Regis treated this like a heartbeat he was willing to burden himself to. If anything, he would be willing to tuck away his selfish reasons, because the reason was right in front of him and that was all he ever needed.
“Nice joke, Regis.” Rene wiped small doses of teared laughter with his free hand. “Didn't know you'd get so poetic at… sunsets.”
Regis couldn't even help but smile. Perhaps this is the only way. The only way to paradise was either a love he'd sacrifice wholeheartedly or a risk he's willing to steer himself to.
