“Nothing really… Just... about what's to come next.” Daichi muttered.
“Daichi…” Sugawara said, he could tell Daichi was hiding something.
“I know you’re lying.”
Daichi took a deep breath, he really didn’t want to tell Sugawara this, but had to unless he wanted to be lectured.
“I have to get married.”
“And?”
“It’s arranged.”

Summary
After a chance encounter in the woods at night, Daichi is catapulted into a rapidly changing conspiracy in which Oikawa has missing time in his childhood, Daichi's father is part of a secret government agency, Tendou doesn't seem to be human and, mostly bizarrely of all, the boy's ghost hunting adventures go viral when Kenma posts videos of them online.
Daichi probably wouldn't hate being internet famous with the four other volleyball captains if it didn't seem to also come with ghosts at the edge of his vision and uncovering something deeply, fundamentally wrong with his family.

Summary
Ten years ago, Sawamura Daichi left his first friend and childhood love, "ToTo", with barely anything to remember him by. Years later, Daichi suddenly finds himself pestered by fellow captain Oikawa Tooru, someone that Daichi sees as an enemy and nuisance. He decides, quite easily and without any guilt, that he hates Oikawa, but isn't quite prepared for when these feelings start to change.
AKA a mostly canon-compliant Haikyuu telling of the budding relationship between two captains while exasperated family and friends are forced to watch two, respectfully, pining and oblivious idiots come together

Once again, the hallway illuminated as the windows reflected what looked like a particularly powerful bolt of lightning. The new light allowed Kuroo to see that two doors down, Karasuno’s classroom door was in fact cracked open. Meaning he wasn’t hallucinating or creating a false narrative in his head. This was real and there was someone behind that door. Before he could say anything else to confront said person, an angry bout of thunder managed to actually shake the school. A low whine and undeniable sniffling seeped past the wooden barrier separating Kuroo from the stranger, and served as enough of an anchor to regain the Captain’s focus and cause him an understandable level of concern.
“I’m coming in!” He declared.

Playing volleyball is nice. High school is nice. Hiding your identity as a wanted member of a group of the most powerful supervillains in Japan isn't nearly as nice.
Or Akaashi, Daichi, Kuroo, Oikawa, and Ushijima, along with their ally and safe-house owner, Sakusa, make up the mysterious and elusive supervillain group called the Horsemen who are wanted by the National Heroes Association. During the day, they hide the fact that they have superpowers, are villains, and are leading a double-life from their friends/teams. Friends who they know also happen to be superheroes working for the Association. It's hard, leading a double-life, but it'll be worth it to protect the nation and their hero teammates from the corruption that is spreading exponentially from the top of the Association.
