Summary
Druig’s nervous. He can’t deny it, as much as he wants to, but he thinks it’s perfectly reasonable to be nervous for your first party at university. Maybe it’s a bit sad, that it’s early November and this is Druig’s first university party, but in his defence, he deliberately picked the same university as Ajak and Phastos so he wouldn’t have to strike out and attempt to make friends on his own.

Druig has been at university for nearly three months, and when Ajak finally succeeds in dragging him to a party, he doesn't expect anything world-shattering to happen. But then he meets Makkari, and all of his expectations are blown out of the water.

The remaining Eternals gather together, one last stand against their brother. Druig tells Makkari, in order to be stopped, he'll need to be killed. Makkari is not sure if she can do it: wield the hammer and help deliver the killing blow to her former lover.

Piles of artwork, trinkets, and other legendary artifacts filled the room. Statues of Bast from near Wakanda, full sets of plate mail armor from Spain, books rescued from the library of Alexandria, written works from every human culture spanning millennia. Mixed in between the unorganized piles—he knew she’d contest his assessment of unorganized of course—of priceless treasures were more wrappers and boxes of junk food. Soda cans, sweets, more chips, candy wrappers, takeout containers.
In the midst of it all, she sat in a throne speedreading some large tome. A queen surrounded by her tribute. His beautiful queen. He remembered another throne room where she had been his queen, his bright Kore, Queen of the Underworld.

Before the time travel, and the snap that undid the snap was grief-- unbearable amounts of grief that he shouldered and dealt with even though it took a lot more effort to breathe. Druig was always in tune with the emotions of mortals, so when Thanos snapped his damn fingers and half the population of the universe dissolved away-- Druig felt it, felt the terror, confusion, the sadness, and grief.
And when the Avengers show up at his front door practically oozing grief, he feels he’s obligated to help them-- if it’s for selfish or selfless reasons, well that’s up for personal interpretation.
