He lounged on a massive bed within the glass, his toned, athletic body utterly bare, save for sheets the color of twilight draped artfully over his groin. His skin glowed faintly, warm gray where the light touched him, and his tail curled behind him in a slow, lazy wave. His luminous eyes found hers instantly.
A clawed hand rose and pressed gently to the inside of the mirror.
“You’re so delicious in the light,” he purred. “I can’t wait to eat you up.”

His body tensed in an instant, ears on alert and smile stretching into his perfect mask once more. The crackle of his static covered the small gasp that had escaped before he could stop it.
The lighting of his room had always been dark, illuminated mostly from the pocket-dimension bayou that he had sewn into his assigned hotel room. It had taken him years to master that piece of magic, but it had been worth it time and time again.
Now, however, Alastor wished he had more than the light of the fake moon filtering in through the bayou’s trees.
By the time his eyes finally adjusted to the shift in lighting to spot the intruder, the glowing lilac collar had already materialized along with the matching chain.
His master gave the leash a vicious yank, sending him stumbling further into the room.

Even the wise old ladies could not tell him what he was dealing with, just that it bore a terrible plague upon the region for centuries.
Chuuya, a spirit hunter, is the last resort for exorcising an evil spirit that has been tormenting a mountainous village in rural Kyoto for centuries. The first rule is to not play its game when asked. The second rule is that once he bears witness to its form, he's already dead.
