Zuko moves.
One moment Zuko’s still on the ground next to Toph. In the next instant he’s catching Hakoda’s arm, twisting it around his back.
“No,” Zuko growls, applying just enough pressure to threaten to pluck the man’s shoulder out of its socket. “You won’t hurt them.”

Sound carries really well in the Western air temple.
Zuko doesn’t find out until much, much later.

I know you’re trying hard to look after yourself and take care of the country, but if you want to be in a relationship, you also have to try hard to be there for me! Got it?”After a hard week and an insensitive comment, Mai has to remind Zuko that she has needs of her own. Rated T for language.

However, it becomes well-known that anyone who messes with her charges (human or otherwise) will be burnt to a crisp.
