Summary
Who is the John McDonough that hides behind the ghoulish Mayor Hancock of Goodneighbor? Our story begins with a sickly little boy at the age of seven who grew up in an old house on the waterfront, accompanied by his entitled older brother, his submissive mother, and his mentally abusive father. From one-night stands, to backstabbing chem dealers, to a caring detective, to dead-end jobs, to near brushes with death, John's next 39 years would be fraught with challenges before he would eventually meet his missing piece.

Summary
When the ludicrously wealthy Black family disappears from the upper stands of Diamond City, no resident is surprised; after their two children were exiled from the settlement over a year ago, it was assumed that Mr. and Mrs. Black had finally left to find them.
As far as Diamond City Security is concerned, it is a clear open-and-shut case. The local reporter, however, disagrees.
Piper Wright believes there is more to the story than what the town claims, and with the help of Diamond City's detective, Nick Valentine, the pair begin their investigation into the Black disappearance.Meanwhile on the other side of Boston, Lillian Sparks regains consciousness after a night of celebration to discover her companion dead, and a serial killer's calling card on his body.
The leader of the Operators would not be pleased to hear of this.
With artificial fury in her veins, she decides to track down the infamous Pickman and make him pay for the death of her friend, as any true Operator would do.*
Piper can sense a good story a mile away. Luckily for her, Lillian has always been a gifted storyteller.

Summary
John fancied himself an observant man – someone who knew how to spot a difference. For example, Goodneighbor and Diamond City were as different as a molerat to a stingwing. In Goodneighbor, roaches and sharp fingers lurked around each alleyway. In Diamond City, roaches took their claim to the mayor’s office and announced what was best for the people.

Summary
This is an alternate canon/retelling of the classic John Ford western "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" in the Fallout universe - and while it diverges from the canon of both, I tried not to stray too far.
Nora, a proud self-proclaimed lawyer, finds herself in a post-war Commonwealth before Vic's dictatorship in Goodneighbor has come to an end, which coincidentally is before new-ghoul John McDonough has adopted his Hancock persona. After a run in with Vic in the Fens, she quickly becomes one of his favorite targets, and John feels compelled to protect her.

Summary
“Your friend was not always the same man you see now, not by sight, not by heart. Once, instead of courage there was cold cowardness. The color of red was not his weapon, but his fear.
The shame drove him to punish the one he hated the most. Only by killing the old self could he give birth to a new man. The one who lead his people to a life of freedom.”Series

"They won't follow me, as far as they're concerned I'm the reason they're in this hell hole."
I strode passed him to the toppled mannequin. silently I set it back on its stand, pulled the coat off, shook it out. Holding it out to him I looked him in the unfamiliar black eyes. "well, maybe it's time to become someone else entirely."

Summary
Life was hard. John knew that, especially in the wasteland of Post-Apocalyptic America.
If the act of being born didn't kill you Raiders, The Institute, lack of food or clean water probably would. In fact, most things could easily lay claim to your life; an angry father, an aggressive older brother, a jaded ex-girl.
It was decidedly no place for an empathetic human. Which made John wonder... why had he been born at all?
*Rape/Non-Con + Underage are all pre-ghoul John occurrences*

Summary
Everyone told John that soulmarks were pretty straightforward. You get a mark on your wrist, it says the first thing your soulmate will ever say, it's all hunky dory from there.
Nobody told him they'd tell him his fate, too.
On his eighteenth birthday, John McDonough is left staring at his wrist in the dark - at the pretty cursive letters spelling "You're a ghoul?" across his skin.
At least he's prepared for the future (he thinks).
