Summary
They’re soaked wet to the bone, fingers interlinked, as he drags her through the streets. This city, Saint is beginning to learn, is different from home. At least at home, there’s still some degree of sunlight, but there’s none of them here. Here, it’s a perpetual state of just rain—constant, wet, and beautiful.
Tim doesn’t agree.
She has a hand over her eyes, squinting against the rain, and Saint laughs at her. Even the rain in this city tastes different—thick, like it’s heavy with something—and he smartly doesn’t mention it. Tim’s just going to use that as ammunition, claiming something about the pollution and whatever else tainting the rain from inside out. Saint knows poison, though, and he knows what it means to be poisoned—and hadn’t that been a rough first few months in a brand new city—and he’s decided it’s worth it.

“Oh, so is that the reason you stick around?”
“Well. Bird 2 is an excellent conversationalist.” That causes the both of them to laugh, Loid letting himself drift closer to the other, a comfort in the proximity.

Summary
My inevitable Vignettes for my Sierra Falls Horizons hockey romance series.
At the time I finished The Long Season, it was still really early in the 2025-2026 NHL season. I knew that it was extremely likely that I would be inspired by antics during the season to write more. In some instances, I might be able to add new chapters to The Long Season, in other instances, it might make sense to just to have some discrete, standalone Vignettes. These will make no sense to anyone who hasn't read the stories so I honestly wouldn't bother reading this story unless you're already along for the journey :)

“There’s nothing wrong with Abi,” he starts softly. “We’ve said that from the start, right? No matter what any tests say, she’s still our perfect little girl. She’s just going to need some more help than her sisters and that’s okay.”
