Renee hoped that with their combined efforts, her and Anita could finally put to rest the endless search for Jackson Williams and reunite brother and sister once again. But that hadn't been how it went. Jackson was dead, seemingly had been for years in an unmarked grave. Renee knew that Anita was smart; she knew a lot of things Anita was, and they were all pleasant words. But the soldier was also distant and it was that distance that scared her. She didn't know what the Legend would do with the newfound knowledge of her brother's passing, but she knew that no matter what, she wanted to be there for Anita if she needed to be.
When she learned that Anita had planned an evening of drinks with Loba, the first the two had shared since their relationship had gotten positively frosty, she elected to follow and learn what she could of Anita's plans. What she saw confirmed her fears.
Anita was leaving the Outlands.
