Summary
The wolf is snarling in Anton’s mind to pin his boyfriend - husband - down and take him hard and fast, but the man has other ideas.
Anton slips another ring from Viago’s hand and places it two fingers along, where it should be.
“I reckon this marriage thing goes both ways, love. Need everyone to know that you’re my mate - my husband. Just… you’re mine, Viago. Nobody else can have you.”
There’s a brief moment where the room falls completely still - totally silent.
And then the tension building all evening snaps.

Viago has always wanted a family of his own. He thought he would get that with Katherine but with her untimely passing he decides to just raise a child on his own and asks a favor from some witches.
He's thought about this for a long time but is rather unprepared for what taking care of a baby actually entails. Luckily, the one he least expected to bond with over all this offers to help him out.

“Stay behind you?” Viago echoes. “Anton. I am a vampire. I do not need to stay behind you.”
Anton knows this is technically true, in the same way that he knows Viago is technically much older than him, and stronger-in-a-different-way than him. He still feels this protective urge over him, this desire to guard him, this— this need to keep him safe, because he loves him, which was the whole point of this camping trip, to— to show Viago the place he loves most, and sit him down under the stars, and tell him he’s in love with him.
If that means he has to fight off some random creature in the woods first, it’s worth it. Viago is worth every second of every day.
