Wing said gently, “Killua. Alluka. If there’s anyone who’s out to seek revenge, or even if its a family member-”
“It’s not like that,” Killua insisted with a grimace and Alluka nodded at his side. Killua added, "And I took care of Illumi years ago. He'd have to be crazy to attack us now."
“Then who's after you?” Zushi finally cried out, throwing his hands into the air.
Killua rolled his eyes. “It’s Gon, obviously!”

Summary
Whale Island has never felt so small and isolated as right then, standing next to Aunt Mito’s letterbox holding a postcard from someone he’s suddenly not sure he’ll see again for a very long time.
After parting with Killua at the World Tree, Gon returns to Whale Island, weighed down with regrets. Sporadic postcards from afar are now his only connection to his best friend, fragile threads stretching across the vast distance as he tries to untangle what Killua truly means to him. As he drifts in the ache of separation and an uncertain future, darkness stirs on the horizon and threatens to draw them back together - whether they are ready or not.
My attempt to fill in the gaps for Gon and Killua between the World Tree and the Black Whale, with some creative liberties taken!

Summary
Deep below the surface of the Zoldyck Manor, in the heart of Kukuroo Mountain, the oldest Zoldyck brother lay trapped in a room, small and oppressive. Some time after the 13th Hunter Chairman Election, Merdera Zoldyck breaks free! He has his heart set on finding a mysterious artifact on the mythical country of Wondra. Really though, he just wants to surpass his dad.
This is a story inspired by my favourite poorly written fan fictions. Though it started as a pure joke, at some point I couldn't help but put a little sincerity into it, and then a little more.

"I think," she interrupted, pressing the blunt of the knife into his palm gently, "that some things run in the blood." Her fingers clamped over his, surprisingly strong. "Your father heard the trees. You hear the water. You both learned to listen for the quiet things."
Gon turned the knife over. The metal caught the light, throwing jagged reflections across the walls. "Quiet things?"
"The way the birds stop singing before the reaping, so you go fishing instead. How the fish tastes like ash on Reaping Day, so rather you buy bread with it." She leaned closer, her breath warm and smelling of bitter herbs. "You’ll hear the difference of your name in another’s mouth.”
His grip tightened. "You think they'll call it?"
She didn't blink, her sad eyes soft yet jaded.
Gon was always too kind—never hesitated to sneak some grain to the orphans, or “accidentally” leave his basket of fish beside the clinic on bad days. It catches up to him.

"I-Idiot, why would you know that?!"
Gon really notices everything, how little it may be, about Killua. Kurapika watches them fondly and reminisces about their time together a few years back. Time sure does fly, huh? He subconsciously grins thinking about their clumsy dynamic back then.
This moment is short-lived though, as his smile quickly fades into a muted gasp.
Actually, that is anything but true, since Gon always seems to miss one particular thing about Killua.
Kurapika bolts towards the two and reaches out with his right arm, desperately trying to intervene before it’s too late, but that never works out for them, does it?Or;
After Killua and Gon part ways, with many things left unsaid, Gon doesn’t really hear from Killua anymore. He's determined to search for Killua and make things right. Meanwhile, Killua accepts a dangerous mission.-

A year after meeting his Father Gon, losing his Nen and returning home Gon presented as an Alpha by going through his first rut. A year after that he started thinking more of his best friend as a potential mate even though they have not seen each other in years. This year Bisky came to Whale Island to help him get his Nen back and he learns that for the prior 2 years she was with her other star pupil Killua Zoldyck and never told him.
After separating at the world tree Killua started to slip back into his depression so to distract himself he begged Bisky to train him further along with helping him make sure his sister was safe. A month after his 15th birthday Killua had a heat and was an omega which didn't bother him as there are plenty of strong Omegas and knew gender had nothing to do with a person’s strength but it bothered some people when they were beaten by 'a small frail omega boy' and some alphas viewed him as a prize to be won or their property. After 2 years of training Bisky was asked by Gon to train him but before going she asked if he was ok with it and being alone as Alluka had her own new life away from him before she went he asked her to not mention him to Gon until he was back to his former strength.-

hisoka did not look good. his makeup was smudged, revealing bruised skin under, a thin rivulet of blood was drying on the side of his face, coming from somewhere hidden by his messy hair. he was shaking so bad his teeth were chattering loud enough for gon to hear. he looked wild and unhinged in a way gon hadn't seen on him before, even in the hunter exam. he held his arms over his middle, pale wrists bent unnaturally, his knuckles swollen and bloody.
"c-can i use your shower?" his voice was rough, hoarse, coming out in a stutter through his chattering teeth. his left ear was torn and bleeding, gon could see now - where someone had torn his earring out.
he was too stunned to speak, moving out of his doorway. "hisoka, were you in a fight?"

Or, Every adult in Killua and Gon's lives share stories about the weird shit they've done. None of them know they're talking about the same dumb kids, though.
