“You can do this,” she said to her reflection. The tiny little vanity mirror offered little reassurance. She groaned, slid the mirror cover and snapped the visor closed.Zoey was not surprised to find out she was the first one there. Her mother liked being punctual and her father was notorious for being fifteen minutes late to everything. She was about to enter the restaurant when a voice called out to her.
“Oh, my god! Are you Zoey from HUNTR/X?” A young girl, maybe fourteen, was looking at Zoey with awe.

It started as another off-campus party. Cheap lights, louder music, glitter in the drinks.
By morning, the city was quiet.Rumi ran. Zoey opened the door. Mira locked it.
Now they’re holed up in a dorm suite as sirens fade, broadcasts cut to black, and the people outside move in perfect, terrible unison.Something is wrong with the way they move.
No one knows what it is or how it spreads.Each supply run reveals more: shimmering powder, dissolving beads, whispers of something alive in the drink. The closer they get, the tighter the walls press, and the harder it is to tell contamination from survival, or fear from love.
(“There was a party,” she said. “Warehouse. It got… ugly. People were...fighting. I left.”
Mira’s head tilted. “Ugly how?”
“Just… a lot. Punching, biting, shoving. I didn’t” Rumi swallowed. Her mouth was dry; the sirens out there were wet. “I didn’t stay.”
Mira took a step closer, soft-soled shoes not making a sound on the rug. “You showed up with other people’s blood on you.” A beat. “None of it is yours.”)

Summary
Zoey was nervous. She was sitting in the corner of her room, in her mother’s apartment in Korea. It was 3:25 AM. She wasn’t sleepy—her head was full of thoughts. She lifted her hands, placed them on her head, and took several deep breaths. On the screen was the email to send her demo and see if she could be selected. She let out a laugh—if she sent it, she had nothing to lose. If they didn’t call her, she’d just go on with her life and never have to mention it again. But… what if they *did* call her? She bit her lip. Even if they did, it didn’t mean anything, she thought. She would just have to show up in person before the one and only Celine from Sunlight Sisters and see if she was selected for the K-pop group she was forming.
“Screw it,” she said as she hit “send.” When the confirmation appeared, her lip finally split and she tasted blood.

Zoey always admired her bandmates greatly. Rumi and Mira were so incredible, it seemed obvious when they started dating.
Zoey watched with longing in her heart. Rumi would kiss Mira and she would kiss back.
Zoey would watch.
She loved them too. She wanted to be with them too. Not one or the other, but both.
That's when the petals started to come. Coughed up with blood.
All she wanted was to be held by Rumi, kissed on the forehead by Mira, kept safely in their arms. But she was sure she was doomed to die, to succumb to her fate. It's what she deserved, in her opinion.

They're back! Or at least that's what it seemed like the whole entire world was screaming about Huntr/x; only the biggest and most awesome girl group ever! And Mystery could relate, it had indeed been a startling realization to come to indeed, after the discord that Jinu had caused between the five of them, because who knew in his 400 years he had always been planning some sort of personal coup from the relentless and unceasing pressure that being under Gwi-Ma caused. And well; now they were free and after their long and difficult; and more than a bit personal in a few instances, were mostly on good ground with the girls. Which meant that; after having invited Huntr/x onto the Variety Show back when they had ulterior motives; it was now their turn to invite the Saja Boys.
That is, if the others still even wanted to be a boy band? Yeah, they were still trending; but who knew how long that would last. Besides; it wasn't a Variety Show this time, no games. This time it was a dual interview. And apparently the girls had already gone ahead and okay'ed the questions, but had left it entirely up to surprise to the boys... that was going to be interesting.

Her head snapped up in the direction of the new voice. It wasn’t Rumi’s. Her gaze lingered shamelessly on his biceps.
“Oh. My. Gosh. Your biceps are hugeee!”
He raised his arm with a flourish, flexing them.
“Yup.”
The demon seized the opportunity and pounced on her. Eyes wild and raw, drool spilling from its mouth, and onto Zoey. Abby faked a gag.
“Do something! Don’t just stand there!” Zoey called out, tackling a demon to the ground.

During a late night demon attack, Zoey drops the Miracle box. What she didn't accept was for a stranger to find it, let alone for him to be so attractive.
