“Owners, in fact” Lucifer says with a smirk Alastor wishes to bite off his face. There’s no need to summon the chain, he feel it, warm as a bonfire, while the one that glowed in red is always cold as ice.
“I don‘t remember selling it to you.”
“You did when you fell in this place. Like everyone else. Anyways, it doesn’t matter, I don‘t want your soul or exclusivity over it. No.”
“Then?”
“Then, for a favor of your choice you will stop smiling in my presence.” Alastor‘s expression freezes, his mask a second away from falling. “In exchange for a favor of whatever nature and purpose you choose, you will only be able to show your true emotions to me. What do you say? It‘s quite the bargain, don‘t you think?”

Alastor swung his bare legs off the bed, his hooves clicking against the wooden floor. He didn’t stand, unsure if his trembling legs would take his weight just yet. But he had to go. Had to get away.
Smooth fingers ran down his spine, goosebumps causing his soft fur to stand on end—even his tail fluffed up from the ticklish yet pleasant feeling, begging to flick happily.
Fuck.
He needed to leave.
“Stay the night? Just until your morning broadcast?” Lucifer’s question was expected, his words tinged with hope and desire.
Alastor swallowed back his hesitation and forced a sly grin as he scanned the room for his discarded clothing. “Again? Quite insatiable, aren’t you, sire?”

Suho looks down at his hands, knotted and white-knuckled in his lap, inspects the fraying edges of the Pokémon bandage Seojun had wrapped around his thumb when he’d cut himself making dinner the other night.
“It’s cute isn’t it?” he’d said, poking the nose of the little yellow … mouse? and irritating Suho’s cut in the process. “Jugyeong likes these. She can’t name a single one besides Pikachu, but she insists she knows all of them.”
Suho thinks about the box of bandaids Jugyeong keeps in the top drawer of her desk, patterned with strawberries because that had always been their thing. A physical piece of the love they’d built between them as though she’d needed to prove it to herself, that Lee Suho and Lim Jugyeong were meant for eternity.
She’s right, he decides. They’re not.
