Summary
Rumi feels somewhat irritated with her girls. Since their hiatus started, they haven't let her work as much as she wants to. And today, they’d totally cleared out the schedule. Like, what? What is she supposed to do?
Her hands busy themselves with emails, instead. Since they won’t let her actually physically attend meetings, she may as well work on scheduling later ones, or maybe finding some new sponsorships.
Zoey slips in next to her on the couch, looks at her screen, and sighs her disapproval.
“Rumi, baby. Come get boba with me.” Her pout is audible in her voice, and Rumi sighs.
“Zo, let me finish typing this. It’ll only take a minute.” It won’t only take a minute, and Rumi knows this. Evidently, Zoey knows this too, because she shuts Rumi’s laptop and pulls her into a gentle kiss.

Finally, Zoey blurted it out, voice soft but sharp:
“Have you ever thought of… something besides monogamy?”
Mira’s thumb stilled on the screen. She looked up, slow. “…What?”
Zoey’s hands twisted in her lap. “Like—not open relationships. Just… not just one person. Have you ever thought about being with more than one person and it still being okay?”
She wasn’t looking at Mira. Her voice was tight, like it hurt to speak. Mira watched her with a furrowed brow, still quiet.
“I feel so guilty all the time. Because I love you, Mira. I love you, and this doesn’t change that, but I see her and I want to make her smile and I want her to hold my hand and I think she’s beautiful and weird and sweet and I—”
She finally looked up, tears shining in her eyes.
“I think I ruined us. And I’m so sorry.”
Mira just stared at her. Wide-eyed. Silent.
Zoey’s heart dropped. “Say something.”
Mira exhaled like she’d been holding her breath for a month.
Then she visibly deflated—shoulders dropping, head tilting back against the wall—and let out a quiet, choked laugh.
“…Oh thank god.”

Summary
"You awake?" Mira's voice is lower in the mornings in a way that scratches pleasantly at Rumi's ears. She feels Mira's body stretch, even more heat boiling her blood at the full length drape of Mira's body against her own. The ghost of her breath on Rumi's shoulder has goose pimples lining her flesh instantaneously.
Rumi squeaks out some semblance of an affirmative sound. She feels her hands clench from her own nervous instinct and realizes very quickly her hand is curled around Zoey's waist. Zoey only lets out a soft, content sound in response.
"Good," Mira drawls out slowly. "Are you going to give me a good morning kiss or what?" Rumi is used to hearing a general underlying teasing to Mira's tone but finds not a trace of it now. She feels the gentle nudge of Mira's nose against the back of her shoulder, and while she is used to Mira treating her softer than she would anyone else other than Zoey, this feels like an entire new level unlocked.
It's been less than twenty-four hours since a three way love confession and already Rumi is greedy for everything that comes with it.

Of course she meant it as a solution to everyday ailments like the flu, a sore throat, or heartbreak. But Celine thought why couldn’t it be extrapolated to mending my relationship with my adopted child who thinks I never loved her.
Or: Celine and Rumi rebuild their relationship after the events of the movie, and soup is a small supporting character.

Mira frowns, pausing her scratching under Derpy's chin (he does not seem to mind. Or notice. Honestly, Mira's not exactly sure if the tiger is even aware that he's alive, sometimes…). “I’m not supposed to be cute. Zoey is cute-”
“Aw, thank you!”
“-you are cute, puppies are cute, Derpy is cute.”
“Mira you’re very, very cute,” Zoey disagrees loudly from where she’s poking at a pot on the stove.
“No, I- ugh. Whatever, not the point. Why did you two say that, anyway, about me being some closet romantic?”
Rumi blinks at her. “Because… you are?”
“I am not- when have you ever seen me fawn over someone opening a door?” Mira scoffs, resuming her ministrations on their fluffy visitor.
“Never, but-”
"So why did you do that? Now people think I'm some swooning idiot."
“Right, no- Mira, I meant that you like to do those things.”
“Duh,” Zoey calls helpfully from the kitchen.In which Mira decides to sweep Rumi and Zoey off their feet, and Rumi and Zoey are too stupid (affectionate) to realize it.

Elphaba’s neck flushed briefly. She would not let her concern be brushed off by dirty tactics, much less in front of the Palace's staff.
“Highly debatable,” Elphaba said dryly.
The guard, to his credit, became extremely interested in a perfectly ordinary patch of wall just over the secure door’s frame. Sound travelled more than you’d think in this part of the Palace, and thus he had long ago perfected the art of hearing everything and reacting to nothing. Ever. At all.
