Tommy's a fuck up, he can't pay attention, and never sits still. He taps his hands, pushes people away, and has never had a best friend. He's a screwed up, forgotten kid lost in the foster system. He's also just been placed with a new family. Tommy knows how this goes, he never ends up staying long. After all, no one wants a fuck up like him.
Why would this house be any different?

“Hey kid, sorry I didn't see you there. How can I help you?”
The kid shoots up and he looks scared out of his mind for a second before scowling. “I’m not a fuckin’ kid,” he snaps. Wilbur laughs softly, the kids eyes are blue, they remind him of Phil.
“Right, how can I help you?”
The kids’ bristling demeanor dies down instantly and he looks suddenly much more nervous. The kids posture is shit, Wilbur notices, his shoulders are up and slouched over his chest almost protectively. He starts fidgeting with sleeves of his shirt and he quickly but quietly pulls out a five dollar bill, he slides it across the bar to Wilbur.
“Could I have a- could I get a-“ He pauses, shakes his head and looks up.
“Hamburger and sweet potato fries,” He says it with a confident voice but scared eyes and body language.or phil, techno, and wilbur own a diner and tommy becomes a regular customer. one found family arc later and they adopt him

"We have to leave," Wilbur pulled at Tommy's hand. "We have to leave now." Tommy didn't budge.
"What's going to happen to us?" He whispered, staring at at the pale light on the pavement.
Wilbur couldn't answer. They couldn't go back to the group home, they would give them new placements, separate them, and then Wilbur would never see Tommy again. They couldn't go back home, Wilbur still heard the screaming from the open window.
"We'll figure something out, I promise."
Or: Wilbur and Tommy run away from another foster home. Techno and Phil are roommates who just so happen to catch them stealing from their trash.

“And everyone is so old,” Tubbo complains. Somehow, without them knowing about it, Tubbo’s managed to swipe a waffle and is chewing on it happily. Sapnap stifles a laugh. “Well, not everyone, I guess- the kid in our room is our age, I think. He might be younger.”
Wilbur perks up. “Does he ice skate?”
“Yeah, he does. He’s got these sick skates and everything.” Tubbo explains. “He’s quiet though. We tried talking to him, but…”
“But?”
Tubbo shrugs. "He's quiet. He doesn't talk much. I guess he's busy."
or, Tommy's made it to the Olympics for figure skating- he's the youngest contestant on the ice and he's the favor for the gold. He's supposed to be living the dream. So why is he still so unhappy? And why do all these hockey players and snowboarders care so much about him?

Summary
Tommy has been illegally drag racing with his friends Tubbo, Ranboo, Quackity for quite some time now, and he’s damn good at it. It’s one of the only things Tommy feels like he does right, and clearly he’s got to be good because he keeps winning the money. If it hadn’t been for the fact that His older brother Techno was in college most of the time and Wilbur hadn’t been so heavily in his academics he probably would have been caught a LONG time ago. When he gets the proposition to race Dream, the only other man who he had a competitive streak with, Dream decides to play dirty to win.
Now Tommy’s brothers knows his secret, and he’s not pleased one bit about it.

This kid was so small.
That was Phil’s first thought upon opening his front door—that the kid on his front porch was so small. Too small for the warnings heaped upon Phil by the state, warnings of wild magic and dangerous words, of the treachery and trickery that came hand in hand with the legends of the fae. Phil had known many fae over the course of his lifetime, both kind and cruel. The kid on the front porch just looked like a kid.
He just looked scared.Or: Phil signs up to be a foster parent and ends up just stacking traumatized kids in his house.

“Please,” one soldier told Techno over dinner, “The Blood God isn’t going to help you. He doesn’t accept any of the blood sacrifices the generals leave for him, so either he doesn’t exist, or he thinks he’s too good for the likes of us. Either way, it’s best to find a different patron.”
Techno had punched him in the face for that. None of his other comrades ever brought up the Blood God again.
Well, except for one.
“You follow the Blood God?” the new kid said, staring up at Techno with unbelievably blue eyes.
“Yeah,” Techno replied, perhaps a bit gruffer than he meant to, “What’s it to you?”
“Nothing!” the new kid said, grinning wildly, “I love that guy. He gets all the ladies. Hey, we should be friends!”Or: Techno is the last devout follower of the Blood God. Tommy may or may not be said god.

The way they were talking about it with the costumes and the lore, Steve presumed it was another Dungeons and Dragons thing that he did not understand so he tuned them out.
(i.e. the fruity four and the kids go to the renaissance faire and something about Eddie in a costume gets Steve flustered)

Most of the main band's songs (sbi) will be songs by the undertones, who are a real band from the 70's from a place in Derry, which is where Tommy and Tubbo happen to be from in this fic!:)

When the door to Wilbur’s flat hisses open, releasing more smoke and grit than usual, he’s got great big circles under his eyes. Tommy blinks at him once, twice. “You look like shit,” he says, and ducks his way inside.
“Gee, thanks,” Wilbur says, no heat to his voice. He lingers a moment at the door, head turning this way and that, before letting it shutter closed. “Bad week for the ol’ asthma. You been good?”
“Coping,” Tommy sighs. “I’m still alive, Wil - y’know how it is.”
“A hard knock life, up in those towers,” Wilbur agrees. He’s smiling. “Want anything to eat?”Or: Tommy's a pure-blooded, unmodified human from up in the skyscrapers. Wilbur insists he's unmodified, but has been acting cagey lately. Phil's got great big metal wings, Tubbo runs a pub for the modified and Ranboo's part of the hidden network to get them to safety, Techno doesn't bother hiding his cybernetic eyes or prosthetic leg, Tommy's got some bias to work through - and amongst all of this, Wilbur has vanished, and Tommy's willing to do anything to see him again.
