Meeting their future-selves wasn’t supposed to feel this... wrong. It was supposed to be simple proof that they’d be fine without their fairies. But after yet another weird, loaded glance between future Dev and Hazel, regular Dev snapped.
“There!” He jabbed a finger between them. “That’s exactly what I’m talking about! You're both acting shifty, like you’re hiding something! Just admit it-you’re not even friends anymore, and you’re faking it to keep us from freaking out!”
"Alright!" Peri finally cracked, clapping his hands between them. “They’re here, alive—that’s all we need to know, right? This future stuff already has me on edge; let’s just wrap it up...”
Dev was about to protest again when he noticed Hazel freeze beside him.
Her eyes were caught on future Hazel's hand as it brushed a lock of hair behind her ear. “That finger… You’re…”
“What?” Dev followed her stare, confused, but Hazel’s expression said it all. She pointed between their future selves, her jaw dropping.
“Wait a second… are you guys married?!”
And with that, two rings and all hell broke loose.

But I saw less and less of him and he stopped speaking to me. I know now that what he needed for me to do was reach out, but a fairy godparent is only supposed to give a godchild what they want. Not what they might need. And that's Da Rules"
Peri realized he was looking at Jorgen at eye level. He'd been too caught up in his rant to realize that he had wriggled free from the powerful fairy's grip and flown up to meet his gaze head on. Peri shrinks up and lowers himself. "I..uh...didn't mean to imply or offend anything, Jorgen! Da Rulez are great as is! I love them so much I use my copy as a pillow!" Peri backtracks.

“Devin Dimmadome.” Wanda’s voice is so icey, it nearly drops the temperature in the hallway. It might actually have -- Cosmo and Wanda mentioned once that emotions can influence magic, but it's less common the older a fairy gets.
“Um.” Peri bodily steps in front of all of them, sweating and grinning in a way that could be featured in a thesaurus as an antonym for confidant. “No?”

“Listen, I’m telling you - he wasn’t human!” Mercury threw his hand out, pointing it towards Earth.
“We’ve just got, what- mermaids, hanging out in the ocean over here?” Earth spluttered, mouth open in disbelief as he tilted the drink in his hand, almost spilling it. “Mercury, you are aware of how weird this sounds, right?”
Luna stared at him from Earth’s side, brow furrowed. “Normally I don’t like to agree with Earth-” Earth gave him an affronted look, but Luna seemingly ignored it, continuing, “but Mercury, this does sound a little… unreal. I mean, we know Sol’s not human - but he’s Sol. I’d be surprised if he was human, honestly. It’s a little weirder if we’ve got… mermaids? in the water.”
Or; Mercury deals with issues related to being one of Sol's right-hand-men, is saved by a siren, and things just escalate from there.

“Is this about our orbits again?” Jupiter shook his head. “We really don’t need to learn again after last time, Sun.” He shuddered, a brief look of unease passing over his eyes; Earth arched one eyebrow as he wondered what that was about.
“Don't lie to me, Jupiter. You are still leaving your orbits.” The Sun offered Jupiter a deadpan look, his hands closing together in front of him. “But… no. This time it’s about your moons. I’ve recently noticed a bit of unrest with your moons, and that’s just not right! My solar system needs to work together, live in harmony.”
Earth thinned his mouth and looked to the side awkwardly, not meeting anyone’s eyes, sure that at least a couple others would be looking at him. The Sun clapped his hands, smiling even wider. “So, today you’re all going to switch moons! And until I feel you’re ready, you’re not going to get your moons back.”
Or, the Sun decides to throw the Solar System into disarray again.
