Summary
This book is complete at 160,000 words. It's the second in my series, Out in the Open. The first is After the Long Game (also complete).
Reading them in order works better, since this one picks up where After the Long Game ends — but if you'd rather start here, all you need to know is that Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov are married and playing on the same team.
Shane is thirty-one years old, playing the best hockey of his life, and about to start his second season alongside his husband. He has three Stanley Cups and he wants a fourth.
Ilya is also thirty-one, and he is now out of the darkness that engulfed him. He is captain, he is happy, and he has taken an interest in construction.
Shane and Ilya have a house, a good dog, a cottage on a lake, and a marriage that is the best thing either of them has ever had. Nobody is hiding anything from anybody. Nobody is going home alone.
And then something happens that neither of them has any way to prepare for, and that only one of them can feel.

Summary
Justin Case is an award winning journalist. He won “Best Reporting on Neighborhood Shenanigans” twice in a row and “Best Family Gossip That Led Nowhere” during his senior year in high school. His love for journalism led him to reading lots of newspapers and also magazines as a form of formal education in journalism.
He loves sports too, especially hockey. He watches a lot of games, The Montreal Metros and The Boston Raiders are his favorite teams, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov are his favorite players.
His cousin is a commentator on hockey games so he figured Journalism is easy enough to do and finally launched the most anticipated magazine in sports history, CRAYV Magazine.

“Question for Hollander,” the next reporter said. “Do you have any comments on the rumors that you are gay and have a boyfriend?”
“Wh-what?” Hollander sputtered from Scott’s left. Scott looked over at him and saw his face drained of blood, eyes panicked. Fuck. This had been Scott’s worst nightmare for years. He couldn’t believe this was happening. He turned and looked at the reporter as he continued speaking.
“Rose Landry’s personal texts were leaked, including several exchanges between the two of you in which you mention having a boyfriend. Is this true? Are you the second gay hockey player in the MLH, after Hunter here?”
