“Come on, Ren-kun,” Yukari nudges Ren as he slumps. “I dove into being Pink Argus with little experience myself, and I haven’t regretted it since. Maybe you’ll feel the same.”
Ren thinks about it. His life really couldn’t and shouldn’t revolve completely around the shadow world, he supposes. And he’s not obligated to do any more than this if acting doesn’t agree with him after all.
Ann’s going to freak. Futaba is going to lose her shit.
“You remember the Phantom Thieves of Hearts business a few years back?” The director asks. “It won’t be a complete one to one, but I do have to admit that this series’ plot is loosely based on it.”
Okay, now that’s just unfair. Now Ren has to take the role.
So that’s how Ren becomes a Featherman Ranger.
Or, Amamiya Ren becomes a Featherman actor, bases his character off Akechi, and the real Akechi Goro disastrously simps from afar.

The thing is, when most of his friends come on to him it’s either definitely a joke or very easy to shut down. He gets flirted with a lot, sure, but he can generally keep it from becoming a problem; unfortunately, however, where most of the people he knows are either emphatically not his type or very easy to say no to Akechi is a breathlessly gorgeous teen idol with a glittering smile and a dozen layers to every word he says, and Akira has no idea if he’s actually even doing it on purpose, but if he is he’s going to have to let him down easy very quickly for both of their sakes.
He’s really not sure he’s right, and he doesn’t want to sabotage this delicate new friendship, but.
